Listen, I’ll be real with you, Saxophone Mutes don’t work this way. I knew this going in when I bought this item. However the placebo effect of putting in the mute makes me feel less worried about what my neighbors are going to think of my extremely loud saxophone. I feel that’s worth it, anyways.

If you’re looking to actually quiet down your saxophone, this mute unfortunately is not it. Tried it more than once since it arrived and there is no sound difference. I can only blame myself though for trying to go with a cost effective option.

When playing the sax there is only 1 note where the sound goes only out the bell. For every other you've got big holes in the sax that are producing sound, this won't mute those at all. Don't waste your money!
