This is a surprisingly good makeup kit. When I ordered it I really wasn't expecting it to be as nice as it is. I especially like the eye shadow palette. I generally don't use eyebrow powder but since it was included in the kit I have tried it a few times. If you know someone that doesn't have any makeup yet or has a limited amount of makeup this kit would make a nice gift. I think it's a good value.

When I presented this to my wife, she was happy to see all the basic colors/tones and the relatively convenient (if not standard) size, shape & design of the two lidded compacts. At age 72, I think she qualifies as an 'experienced' makeup user 😉 All of the colors seemed consistent with what she's currently using - with a couple extra hues & variants to add to her look. She purchases most of her makeup from the big 'Mart store and compares the quality to the name branded - and somewhat higher priced - makeup kits/shadow trays she's been using for many years. I would say she likes this set pretty well because, other that her dry mineral toner that she brushes on, this kit has been her go-to for the past couple of weeks... ...and she's looking great! With the nice range of colors for a set of it's size, there's something here for everyone - and just about any look a lady would like to achieve. I'll be getting one of these kits for our daughter this Christmas because it's a no-brainer and an easy gift to give that can't 'go wrong' - if you get my drift. At the ~$10 price point with this quality and content, this kit could also make a nice backup set for travel. My wife likes this and I do too. I was expecting 'dollar store grade' product but we were pleasantly surprised.

This is a beginner makeup kit for $10, so I didn’t expect these to be amazing products, but it’s a great starter kit for people trying to learn how to do makeup. You get quite a variety of products in this kit. It would have been nice if it came with a storage pouch to put it all in. Eyeshadow Palette - Not very pigmented, but it’s a nice small neutral palette. Mascara - Love the small precise wand, it applies easily and looks great but the mascara never dries! Everytime I blinked I had to wipe up smeared mascara. Eyeliner - Dries instantly, easy to apply, the winged stamp is a neat feature Eyebrow Palette - again, not very pigmented, they hardly show up at all on my eyebrows. The darkest brown showed up and looked the best. The case felt really cheap and the little brush that came with it is scratchy. Eyebrow Pencil - triangular shape helps give a great shape to my brows, but this is not waterproof. It smudges easily Brushes - the brushes are soft, but they barely pick up any makeup at all. I am better off using my fingers. There also aren’t enough bristles so the sharp metal ends up scratching my eye.

The eyeshadow palette blends well and have very nice shades for day and night applications. The eyebrow pencil and palette are a nice combination to blend out the perfect shade. I use eye/make-up primer to keep products in place otherwise, not sure how well the brow shadow will stick around. I don't use liner so I asked my adult daughter to try it and she states it is just okay. I don't care for the mascara applicator. I prefer a larger silicone brush. The low cost of the set makes this perfect for travel incase something gets broken or lost. It's also a nice set - mainly the eyeshadow palette, to add variety to existing make-up collections.

Looks better in person. I love the feel of the eyeshadow, the colors and everything about it. The eyeliner and mascara are pretty decent as well. This is a great starter kit for those looking to learning their way around makeup.

I chose this set from HOTMAIG for the matte finish shadows and the brushes. About half of the shadows are matte and half are frost - metallic. I like the idea of the eyeliner and other accessories but once they arrived, I really can’t tell what’s - what on 2 of the 3 without going back to the original listing since they aren’t labeled. When the set arrived, the brushes were in a bag to keep them sanitary, but the sponge applicator was not. It was just in the box loose. The price of the set at the time of this review is $9.99. So I am allowing some leeway in the issues with the set based on the very low price. My rating is four stars.

At $9.99 on June 27, 2024, this is a great makeup kit. There is a variety of products included in the set. I especially like the variety of eyeshadow colors. I can use 1 color or blend together with the included brushes to create my own unique look. This would make a great set for beginners who can experiment with different looks for a modest price. Nicely boxed and would make a great gift!
