I bought two of these and really like them. I felt that they hit the sweet spot for transparency vs. privacy, letting wind pass through, durability, and general appearance, as well as value. I thought the zip ties that came with them were light duty but fine for hanging these. I zip tied most of the top and the corners, but I didn’t bother with tying down the bottom, so they were pretty quick to hang up. They had some creases when I hung them up but those flattened out after a couple months. My cat kind of scratches at them a bit but he hasn’t been able to inflict any damage, so that says something about the durability.

I purchased this and the 5' one to keep elements off the wooden balcony of my apartment: front and side. It is not very sheer, which is good. Easy to install. Be prepared to bend to attach the zip ties to the lower part of the screen. I needed one more railing slat to tie the end on the left but I made it work even folding it back a week bit. I wish I had bought when I moved in 10 years ago with snow and rain! The folds from packaging are still present but not a con.

I now have the luxury of walking around naked in my patio. Kidding. But these things sure do help if you’ve got some nosy neighbors really close to you. I live in a condo complex where everyone’s patio is stacked 5 stories high right next to each other. We can all see everyone’s business so I figured I needed some privacy. These things are simple to put up. I have a basket weave pattern on my railings so I just ziptied them where the holes were. It gets very windy in my area and these things block a substantial amount of wind from blowing crap all over my patio. The only weird thing is the sizing is weird, but I guess that’s why they have to be stretched out when you attach them. For example, I ordered a 8x3 one, because my my patio railing was actually about 7 3/4s by 3, so i figured I could order the 8x3 with some room left to spare. Well when I went to put the screen up, it didn’t even fit all the way. I had a gap, so I just tried to stretch it out a little to fit. It was just weird. Same with the 3x3 I purchased (Amazon didn’t offer this sizing so I went on their main site). It was 3 ft on one side, yet shorter on the other side...isn’t that weird?? I mean I made it work, but I wish the sizing was more exact. It still looks good on my patio and does what it’s suppose to. If your size on here is not “prime available, don’t worry because I still got my screen in 2 days. I also purchased the separate custom 3x3 on Alion’s Main website and it came in 2 days as well.

For over a year now I have been living in an apartment that overlooks the balconies in the building across from me. Because we face one another, my neighbors and I have almost no privacy. This DEFINITELY solves that problem!! It took 5 minutes to install with standard zip ties. It filters light through, but still gives you great privacy! It fit my balcony railing PERFECTLY. I will say though that I bought the 3x8 version, and though the height is accurate at 3 ft, this falls probably a half an inch short of 8 ft in width...so not TOO much shorter! I will also say that the color depicted in the Amazon picture is much lighter than the actual color. The real version is definitely much more of a yellowish tan color, not beige as depicted in the Amazon pics. Still SUPER pleased as it more than serves its purpose, and I'm sure the color will fade in the direct sun. Very happy with my purchase!!!!

We live on a glacial "ledge" where we get gusts of wind. We applied 70 plus feet of the privacy screen to our deck to help reduce wind, and had it done in about an hour. Following others tips, we used screws and large washers to attach directly to our deck. We love that you can still "see" through it, and that it blends nicely with our deck stain. The product is of great quality and looks very professional. We are very happy with this lower cost and longer lasting, maintenance free alternative to bamboo/reed. The company will also create custom sizes to fit your needs.
