    • Awesome voice!
This CD was recommended to me by someone who's opinion I trust. So I was expecting it to be listenable, but I was truly unprepared for the voice that blasted out of my speakers. To say Alexa sounds like Joe Cocker is doing her a disservice. Let me put it this way. She has more power than Ronnie James Dio. I'm not kidding. She has the most potent voice I've EVER heard come out of a woman. And I've heard a lot. Her voice IS the featured attraction here but the songs fit her to a tee. The musicians are rock solid throughout with superb keyboard licks that are always placed perfectly by Tommy Rude. Nice melodic pyrotechnics by guitarist Paul Sabu and excellent rhythm work by bassist Murrill Maglio and drummer Charles Esposito. The songs are well crafted radio friendly tunes along the lines and inventiveness of groups like Journey and Foreigner.     • Soothing sounds and rock tunes!
We love our Alexa! We go to sleep with "ocean sounds", when we are working around the house we get an awesome hours worth of music from 60's, 70's, etc, or most of our favorite artists! Recommended and bought for our daughter and son-in-law.

    • Alexa Anastasia and Paul Sabu deliver a magnificent AOR album
"Alexa" is the AOR/melodic rock debut by female vocalist Alexa Anastasia originally released in 1989. Despite baring the name of the Swiss singer, "Alexa" is often considered to have been directed entirely by songwriter/guitarist Paul Sabu who was the driving force behind this project. Indeed the line up that recorded "Alexa" are actually the members of Sabu's late `80s outfit "Only Child" featuring bassist Murrill Maglio, key-player Tommy Rude, drummer Charles Esposito and Paul only on guitars as all vocals were performed by Alexa. Excluding the singer, the rest of the line up cut one of the greatest-arguably-AOR albums of all time, the "Unruly Child" debut, therefore fans of the group should expect that Alexa's album is just as strong a melodic offering. Indeed the two projects are very similar in most ways. Primarily the compositions are mid tempo, for the biggest part, featuring equal amounts of guitars and keyboards. The harmonious keyboards carry stereotypical, yet indispensable harmonies on each song while Sabu's lead guitar playing is outstanding. Alexa herself bares a very similar singing style to that of the guitarist, often considered his female vocal equivalent, baring the same rough edge on her mid/bass range while modeling her extra-intense performances after Sabu's example. It is hard to dispute that "We don't remember why", "Let it rock", "Heart to heart" "A cry away", have the quality of classic AOR tracks, as they peak on both songwriting and performance. For admires of female fronted melodic rock in the style of "Heart", "Robin Beck" and "If only" or fans of Paul Sabu and "Unruly Child", "Alexa" is satisfaction guaranteed. ... show more

    • Why no outlet for head set?
Great product for use at my work desk, as well as sitting in the cup-holder in the car. Curious why there is no output for ear phones?? The phone jack is for audio input only.

    • Turning into a pushy sells person
I used to like it but now every time I ask I it anything it follows with some stupid subscription it wants to sell me. Every single time it will ramble on and on about about the same thing that I have already told it a hundred times I don’t want it. I just use it to play a radio station now and use a different device for everything else. ... show more

Alexa will appeal to fans of Heart, Vixen, Lita Ford, Erika and Lee Aaron. Well written polished radio friendly songs with the excellent musicianship of the Paul Sabu band to back her up. Paul Sabu worked with acts such as Shania Twain, Only Child and Little America.     • Alexa just check The stock market or add a skill. but it is important you should just do it!
Why can't I check the stock market with alexa/echo??? Siri can do it very very easily! Why won't Alexa just check the stock market and tell you the Dow s&p 500 and the NASDAQ ? It is important you should just do it easily!
