The dress arrived on time on a hanger inside a plastic bag to protect it from water damage. It looks just like the picture, color-wise, and seems to be well made. All the seams appear to be secure, no loose threads, and the invisible zipper on back works well. I ordered a size 10. I'm 5/1, 145 lbs. size 38 B cup, and both dress and jacket fit me very well-not too snug or loose anywhere. I'm very happy with the fit. I will have to take the bottom hem up about 2-3 inches, but I expected that. The jacket has a hoop and loop closure at the front top, and the slit on skirt comes up to my kneecap. It's a polyester fabric, (it reminds me of the polyester faux Dry-fit mens t-shirt material...) and it will snag easily if you are not careful, but overall it looks nice and the fabric weight falls nicely without bunching up, and it will suit the purpose of wearing it for a wedding. I'm pleased for the price and only having to alter the hem. I could probably hem it up to my knees after the wedding and make it a cocktail dress for the future. ... show more

I ordered this to wear to a formal banquet. Since I didn't have much time, I read the reviews and crossed my fingers that this would fit - no time for alterations! First, I'm 5'7, 140 lbs with a 36B bust. I normally wear about a size 8 and the size 8 in this dress fit like a dream. The bust was not too big and the skirt of the dress draped beautifully across my frame. The gathers are lovely and the slit, while not my favorite, isn't *too* terribly high. The dress looks beautiful both with and without the bolero jacket. Lastly, it hangs to the top of my feet, giving me the option of either wearing a high heel like the model or taking it easy and wearing a lower heel for comfort. If you are much shorter than 5'6 or 5'7, you may find that this dress is a bit too long without wearing a 3+ inch heel. My only teensy criticism, aside from the slit (which is solely a matter of personal taste), is that there are two seams on the innermost panel of fabric covering the chest/stomach. This shows through the top gathered piece and makes it appear as though the dress has boning or that I'm wearing a seamed garment beneath. It's not terribly noticeable, but it is something to be aware of. Not taking off stars because of it, though. ... show more

I am very pleased with this dress. I bought it to wear to a evening event and it did not disappoint. The dress is very flattering. I am short and curvy and it looks very elegant on me. I paired it with some black heels for a formalish event and got tons of compliments. This is the second dress that I’ve gotten from this manufacturer, and I’ve loved both of them. Overall, the dress is well-made, and quite comfortable. My only real complaint is that the jacket sheds a lot of glitter. Hopefully that will diminish some over time. ... show more

I received the dress only today, & loved it. The fabric was nice, fit was good but I did mid receive the jacket with the dress. I probably would have Kept the dress, but not without trying on thr jacket. I started the return process & reordered , hoping that I will get both pieces this time !!!!

GLITTER! Not sure why there is glitter on the lace of the jacket and bodice. Wish I had seen that in some reviews as this is a non starter for me. Otherwise fit is great, fabric is comfortable, color is exactly what I needed. Returning.

The dress is beautiful! It is very flattering and comfortable (stretchy & true to size). I wore this all day at my son's wedding and received many compliments. The tag said not to iron, but I was able to iron on a cooler setting with no problems. As far as the glitter, I shook it outside and then sprayed hairspray on the glitter parts of the dress, and this helped it not flake off. Loved this dress! ... show more

At 5'3" and 155 lbs. I'm on the short side and needed a dress for my son's wedding that would require no altering. I chose a petite in size 14. The dress is beautiful and has enough stretch so that it is not tight but fits well. Beautiful details to the top and jacket and gorgeous color. The only problem is that I also ordered another dress to try on and now I can't decide. Both are by Alex Evenings. I guess its a good problem to have. ... show more
