I like to take apart my older, broken, electronic devices for any useful parts. I tend to grab any screws, fuses, and wires, that I can use for other projects around my house. I used to have a larger operation of sorts, but had to downgrade when I moved into a smaller house. For the time being, I have been just putting things into an old coffee can, but it was starting to get full. The problem with the coffee can is that everything was just tossed into it, and in order to find anything, I had to basically pour the can out. Once I found what I was looking for, I had to put everything back in. Also, there were some larger parts that sort of fit in the can, but I had them elsewhere for space. When I came across this storage cabinet, I was elated. It reminded me of some of the storage bins I had before (I really don't know why I didn't think of this sooner). I searched around for different types, but decided on this one because it has 20 of the smaller drawers, and 6 of the larger drawers. Another selling point for me was the shorter style of it. I've had taller storage cabinets that sometimes had a tendency to topple over if you didn't have things stored right. With this shorter style, that should never be a problem. That pretty much covers what I need. Another nice aspect of this drawer set up is with the dividers. At first, I didn't know where they were because the cabinets I've had in the past typically needed a dedicated drawer to store everything. With this cabinet, they are attached on the back of the shelf for if/when you may need them. The cabinet is sturdy, and there are mounting screws on the back if you want to secure it to a wall, or other surface. The drawers feel kind of flimsy, but they hold up quite well. ... show more

I used this as a teacher tool box for my desk. The drawers are made very durably and it is nice that they easily come all the way out as it allows for reorganization. That being said, I think the drawers are on the smaller side compared to others I’ve seen. I could not lay my sharpies down flat in the big drawers because they are not long enough. The depth of the drawer did make up for it though. I think it will make a good teacher tool box overall. Consider the size of items you want it to hold however as it is great for small things such as paper clips, push pins and small binder clips. ... show more

I ordered this unit for my new garage, to put loose screws and small parts in a bit more orderly fashion. It arrived on time and was packed well. It was an "Amazon Renewed" product, so I expected some scratches or blemishes but could not find any blemish or scuffing at all. I have several of these made of metal from the 70's that are still holding up fine, so thought I'd try one of these modern plastic units from the same manufacturer. I find the quality is still there, and the drawers are even better now because they are translucent poly (instead of clear styrene like the older ones, which was prone to breakage) and they slide in and out easily. The cabinet itself is one-piece molded plastic and quite sturdy. There are several drawer dividers molded onto the back side of the cabinet, so I cut them out and happily used them to separate small parts more efficiently in the drawers. I ended up mounting this unit to the wall just behind my work bench, through the screw holes which were conveniently located on the back. A great addition to my work area. Since I paid roughly half of what a "new" model cost, I am totally pleased with this "renewed" cabinet, and would recommend it to anyone without reservation. ... show more

So needed a way to separate bagged Lego parts, and these drawers are deep enough to accommodate longer pieces, while the divided compartments work well for the smaller ones. The plastic is a little thinner than I expected, but it's very durable, and you get a lot of drawers. For adult fans of Lego, it's a game changer. Careful cutting out the dividers (which are initially integrated with the back of the unit). Noticed that it was $46.99 when I ordered it, but it's now $33, so I got a little screwed. I have previously purchased a couple of the Akro-Mills Drawers in the past that are taller than this one. I moved into a new house with an attached garage. Once I finally got my garage set up they way I wanted it, I mounted the two drawers to the wall and on top of a wide roll around tool box. I still needed a smaller one to go on the end. With my dimensions I search the internet and found a set of drawers that would fit but it was gray and it was a different brand. I went ahead a purchased it and I did not like it. The individual drawers did not have the slots to put dividers in, nor did it have dividers. Also the there are little "stops" that hang way down above the drawers that keep the drawer from being pushed all the way into the housing. This is ok except when you have a pile of parts in the drawer and the "stop" hits the parts and prevents you from pulling drawer out. Thanks to Amazon for sending me emails suggesting different products based on my past purchases, they suggested this Akro-Mils 26 Drawer. I checked the dimensions and it was a perfect fit so I ordered it. Of course it comes with a few dividers but I had extras that I purchase before. Akro-Mils really did some homework on the design of their drawers. The "stops" are low profile and are hardly noticeable.
