I'm not a pro airbrushing master or anything so take this with a grain of salt. I did try these for painting miniatures and was impressed. No splatter and such. As long as you take care to test your paint and the thickness/thinness on a blank paper or canvas before starting, then it works exactly as you'd expect on your miniature figurines. As someone who primarily paints miniatures and model kits, I was unsure what I was in for with a portable compressor of this size. The kit comes with a single action airbrush, three cup cup sizes in order to allow you to adjust the amount of paint, depending on the project. Each cup is easy to unscrew and remove for easy cleaning. Furthermore, it comes with a complete airbrush cleaning set, and a hose for those who prefer to hold the airbrush in a more conventional fashion. However, the ergonomic design of the compressor resulted in me not needing to use it, as it was comfortable in my hand. I decided to test out the power of the airbrush by basecoating a miniature with unthinned Vallejo black primer, right out of the bottle. I was expecting sputtering, if anything came out at all, but instead, it fed the basecoat straight onto the model without encountering any hiccups or issues. I have to say I was quite impressed by that. Cleanup was easy, with the paint bottle screwing right off, and revealing a pleasant surprise - namely that it seems to use a Harder and Steenbeck designed airbursh fitting, which provides for a better seal than the more conventional fittings. I would rate this 5 stars, and really hope they have a double action one. ... show more

I’ve been using the traditional setup with a compressor and airbrush for years and this is WAY better. I thought the compressor was going to be too big to hold but it’s a great size! Way more compact than I thought it would be and very easy to hold and use. Though it comes with a hose if you don’t want to use it that way. I also love that it comes with the different cup sizes, great touch! Only con/complaint I have is the back of the gun is cheap plastic so when you try to adjust the flow it ends up spinning the whole back of the gun off. Some low strength loctite and grease on the adjustment would probably fix that so it’s not a big deal. The airbrush also works great! No complaints there. I love using this overall! ... show more

I have only tested this so far because I'm waiting for airbrush inks to get here. I tested it using diluted gel polish but its really quite dangerous to spray gel polish into the air for everyone to breath. So I will not do that again. In my testing I found that it sprayed evenly with very few splatters. It is SO. Such easier to use and store than a traditional air brush that requires a whole separate compressor so I love the design. It would be cool if it came with stencils or something. User manual is just ok. ... show more

I have been excited to use this product for some time. I am currently using it for foundation application and it works amazingly well. The little compressor blows plenty of air to pick up the makeup and spray it on my face. It comes out of the pen very lightly but provides excellent coverage. It comes with the tools you may need to clean the pen and reservoirs. It takes a little practice of holding the pen and knowing how many times to go over the same area to get the correct coverage. It is really a cool product! I can imagine it would be very helpful and a great tool for an artist. ... show more

    • Perfect for beginners
Ive never used one of these before but always wanted to. This airbrush was so easy to figure out as a beginner, not intimidating at all. I was a bit concerned because it is rechargeable and cordless; i thought it wouldn't be very powerful but it was! Just like if it was plugged in a wall.
