  • Went in with some difficulty, but it was worth it.
The first one was a serious pain to install. After I figured it out and got it in the other side was easy, though. I would suggest having a professional help you out if you have any doubt if you skills. I ran the air tubes to my rear bumper since I would only be using these while towing. Everything turned out great, xx and they work great. ... show more

  • 2015 Ford explorer rear spring.
Don't be thinking you can squish these airbags down and insert them in between the spring bars, the spring needs to be removed. The airbags are the thick wall heavy rubber, and they're not going to be squished, even with a vacuum, and inserted through the side of the spring. When I'm not loaded down with the trailer, I keep the bags at about 10 or 15 psi and they improve the ride quality, especially around curves. ... show more

  • Much better ride but, patience needed to install
These were installed on a 2015 Ford Explorer Sport and, as others have said, these were a real bear to install. Getting the air bags inside the springs requires a lot of hard work and patience! You definitely have to jack the car up and extend the springs as much as possible. I used a crow bar and channel locks to coerce the bags into place (be careful not to puncture them!) Even with that, it took a couple of hours to get them into place. After the bags were installed, getting the air lines hooked up was a fairly easy exercise. After they were installed, they certainly helped when towing. I had very little sag in the car when towing Sea-Doos and the car loaded with gear and passengers. One other minor annoyance is that the instructions say to keep the bags at 3-5 lbs. psi even when you don't have a load so that they keep their shape. You can definitely hear them creaking around in the back from rubbing on the springs while driving at slow speeds when they're in this mode. ... show more

  • Did the job I needed it to.
I have a 2010 Lincoln MKS and the springs were getting weak in the back. I didn't want to replace the springs because it would do the same thing again. I did some research and I found out that the OE springs were not made to last. Here is a tip for installing these things. First thing is make sure you have a hole at the top of the spring that goes through the body of the vehicle. If you do not then you are going to have to pull the spring to drill the hole. I was able to install these in 10°F weather without having to undo any piece of the suspension. I didn't even take the tires off. All I did was jack the car up. To make life a HUGE amount easier leave the caps off the airbags and put them in a pot of water and put that pot onto the stove and heat it up. DO NOT submerge the nipples on the end of the airbags. You do not want to get water inside of them. After you have them heated up (I went to almost boiling with the water) take each one out put it on the ground and fold the ends into the center of the bag. Using your knee then kneel on it forcing as much of the air out as you can, then replace the cap on the stem. put it back into the pot of hot water. Do the same for the second bag. The hot water does 2 things. It softens the bag and allows it to bend easier, as the bag cools it is also going to shrink because the air inside is going to get smaller. I took what would have been a multi hour ordeal and got the bags inside of the springs in < 15 minutes. The Lincoln MKS has the typical Ford camber issues in the back of the car. spec states -1° of camber. This will eat up your rear tires. and the problem gets much worse as the springs get soft. the suspension is designed to give more negative camber as the suspension compresses. I was close to -2.5° of rear camber. when I was at -1.5° I installed a set of camber adjustments bolts, these bolts can be purchased aftermarket and are available for most Ford/Lincoln vehicles that have this issue. As the springs got softer it passed the capabilities of the bolts to be able to compensate for... The combination of the bolts and the bags has allowed me to set the car at - 0.3° camber in the rear. When I had the alignment done I told the tech to let the air out of the bags then do the alignment and adjust the camber bolts all the way. then add air to the bags to bring it to the -0.3. You MUST hook up the bags so they are independent if you are trying to correct a sagging rear end ... show more

  • Difficult to install...
They are a monster to install. There is no push them in. I ended up dropping the lower control arm, and sliding them up through the spring. *after I removed them. I ran them separately with the schrader valves 6" away from the hitch on both sides for symmetry.

  • U might need to pay someone to install.
These bags are awesome … I’ve had them before … zero issues except the install . I have a 2018 Explorer … way too tight to install … u gotta remove the springs etc … some say if they coat them in oil and try for a hour or so u might be able to get ‘em in … most say it ain’t happening … the cheapest I could find to install was 4Wheel Parts at $225. So … look up the bag install on YouTube for your vehicle … it will help u decide. ... show more

  • Works great
My son put this on my car because I have a lift on the back of it for my Mobility scooter. Stabilizes the bouncing BUT it took a day and a half to install. He said it was not easy at all. He will not do it again. He works on cars and knows what he is doing.

  • I installed these on our 2014 Ford Explorer Limited and ...
I installed these on our 2014 Ford Explorer Limited and they work!!! It does take some time getting them into the coil springs so be patient. Start off by jacking up your vehicle to extend the coil spring. Push out as much air as you can from the air spring and replace the black cap on the inlet at the top of the air spring. Then spray both air springs and the actual coil springs with WD-40. Push the air spring into the coil spring as much as you can. I then use a long 1/2" ratchet extension to push the air spring all the way into the coil spring. Attach the air hoses, T connector and air valve. I used foil tape over the hoses to act as a heat shield from the exhaust pipes. Both sides took me about 25 minutes. We pull a Jayco 23B EXP and even though we use an Equal-i-zer sway control kit, we noticed a HUGE difference in handling and sagging. We gained about four inches between the wheel and fender which is a BIG deal. I do deflate them to 5 psi when we aren't towing to lessen the rubbing noise between the air and coil springs. ... show more
