The pictures on the product page do not do it justice on how bright the indicators are. I have only used the cord i made with these in the basement. but i bet you would have no problem seeing the indicators in daylight.

I use quite a bit of these repairing bad ends on cords or salvaging damaged/cut cords and giving them new life as shorter extension cords. This is a fairly decent set of 15amp male/female ends. The LED light is quite bright, and the build quality seems decent enough. I'm not sure how the plug material will hold up to outdoor use and UV exposure though. That may be something to consider if you intend to leave these outdoors for extended periods. ... show more

I'm always having to replace the ends of extension cords for some reason or another. Having the replacements with illumination is a perfect solution. These are well made and UL listed. Very nice cord plug and outlet replacements.

I was a handyman for many years so have quite a bit of experience using extension cords. The ends of the cords do fail quite often under repeated use. It actually was hard to find what I would call good plug ends at the local hardware stores. There are several features to look for that these ends have, one is that they clamp the cord itself to help relief stress on the plug. These are adjustable as to size of wire with a removable piece so accommodate a wide range of wire sizes. I removed one star for several reasons, these plugs use plug in and clamp type of wire connection for ease of installation. Most electricians don't really like this type of connection and prefer to wrap the wire around the screw instead. Some plugs offer both so you can choose. Secondly the type of polycarbonate plastic these plugs consist of may be a bit suspect as far as longevity is concerned ... show more
