This electric eraser works great! I did a lot of research into different ones and this one had great reviews and price. I was very pleased when I tried it and found how easy and effortlessly it was to remove colored pencil. Even multiple layers of colored pencil. I use Prismas, Polychromes, as well as a couple cheaper brands such as Castle art and such, also Chalk pastels, and other media. I have been able to get GREAT DETAILS & HIGHLIGHTS! I've been able to remove heavy burnished layers, I've been able to create great texture, and even some of the darkest and saturated colors I've been able to completely remove all color. The battery life lasts so long that I have yet to had to charge it after having it for months. I absolutely recommend. It comes with PLENTY of small and large refills and each single one lasts a long time. Ive used both big and small sizes. I have not needed to replace the larger size and Ive used a total of 3 smalls since I prefer the smaller size most often.

I'm a retired professional illustrator and professor who used to work traditionally before going digital. I'm getting back into traditional work, and my old Koh-I-Noor handheld no longer holds a charge (I've got replacement batteries on order and plan to fix it). In the meantime, I bought this device, and it's inexpensive enough to serve as a standby when I get my full-size Koh-I-Noor up and running again. SO when this arrived, I was immediately shocked at the size and weight of the box (meaning it's small). This is an *extremely* light device, most likely because the battery and motor inside are probably small. When I opened the box, I was again shocked at how small it is – about 2/3 the length of the Koh-I-Noor, and not nearly as wide. It arrived uncharged, so I charged it up and gave it a go. It is light, quiet, and does a good job. The erasers are much smaller in length and diameter than my old one, but they work great. I'm initially finding the smaller size to be a negative, but I'll probably adjust with use. Quite a few reviewers mention that the button is too sensitive and turns on too easily. Well, so is the professional-grade Koh-I-Noor's button – this is on purpose so that you don't have to strain and you can focus on your work. As a professional, I see it as a feature, not a fault. I don't think I'll ever have a use for the micro-sized smaller erasers, and can't even imagine them not flexing too much and/or breaking often – they're about the thickness of a color pencil lead. The larger size seems much more useful, but is still considerably smaller than the standard size you'll find in most click-style erasers. One important way of using electric erasers like this is to cut the end squarely so you have a sharp edge for maximum control. I used to do that by holding an x-acto knife against the spinning eraser and it would cut through leaving a perfectly clean, square edge in a second or two. This one doesn't have the power – the x-acto knife stalls the motor. Ah well – you can cut it by eye, but it may not come out as perfect. I did this and it worked just fine. So it seems to work fine to me. I have a couple of cordless pencil sharpeners from AFMAT which work great, get a lot of use, and have held up well for a couple of years, so I imagine this little guy will last awhile. If it breaks or fails at some point I'll update this review. $16... amazing. I think I paid about $180 for the Koh-I-Noor back in the early '90s – just checked and that's a bit over $400 in today's dollars, or about 25 of these mini-me devices. It's not a pro device by any means, but if it does a decent job when needed I'll be happy.

I had a nice electric eraser once and I lost it on a trip. Now I did a lot of research and this product looked to me to be the right one for me. I like that no batteries are required and this charges quickly. The description says it can be used for 600 times but I have no idea what that means in terms of time available from each charge. But I do know that the original charge is still strong months later. I like that it includes both 2.3mm and 5mm erasers; it is good to have the right size for the right job. So in addition to erasing big areas, I need the capability to erase small areas, like in a charcoal drawing. This is great for that. and it comes with lots of refills and spare rubber holders. The ergonomic shape is good for my hands and the sensitive touch is appreciate. I am using this product for art and office. Lots of applications as I am a pencil user. So overall, a great tool to have. I give this product a five star rating!
