I was a little skeptical when my wife first ordered this product. She purchased it on a lightning deal which included free shipping. It arrived on a pallet in 3 seperate and I had to have a friend help me carry it upstairs it is quite heavy (around 300 pounds). I was pleasantly surprised on the quality of material and the set up was quite easy. The memory foam mattress is awesome, very comfortable and supports even bigger/heavier people. It looks good and works perfectly in my office as a spare bed when company comes over.

I am actually pretty impressed by this piece of furniture. My husband assembled it in under an hour by himself, so it was easy to put together for a handy person. The mattress seems like it will be comfortable enough for guests to sleep on without them wanting to over stay their welcome, hah! The only thing I'm disappointed about is the crappy paint job. They maybe sprayed one layer of paint on the exterior of the cabinet in a dusty shop so there are paint goobers and chips and on the entire piece. This isn't super noticeable if you're jogging by it briskly, but unfortunately our office is too small to jog. I wish they would have at least sent a touch-up pen. I have contacted the company, we'll see how we fair there. The freight company that delivered ours was great. They called the day before it arrived and the entire item, which consisted of three very large boxes was shipped on a wooden pallet and wrapped well. There wasn't one hole or scratch in the packaging when it arrived. (Thanks Diamond Line Delivery Systems!) Overall, I'm happy with my purchase. If you're looking for a Murphy bed on the affordable side, in a chest type configuration, this is a great buy.

I've had this for nearly a year now. Absolutely love this; it has gone through one move with me as well. I did have help for the assembly, but it was mainly because I am a very small woman, and there were a large number of boxes. A good friend of mine was able to put together the whole thing in about an hour, with only a power drill because he wanted to be fast. We did note that the back board holes were a little off, but the drill took care of that. Once assembled, it actually is fairly easy to just slide around wherever I need it. I did need help to lift one edge at a time to get it on a rug though. I am 5'3" and sleep on it just fine. This is the bed that I sleep on every night. I have had two friends sleep on it for a week without any issues. I like the space saving of this, as I put away my bed to open up the floor for exercise, or to have space to put down a small coffee table and cushions for entertaining. I will note, hilariously, there is a handprint in the varnish in the interior. The outlet works just fine, I have my alarm clock and a charger on it. Update: do note that the mattress is very hard to rotate/flip, since it's very tempting to not move it at all. I would advise against this, and periodically remove the foam blocks from the cover to flip and switch around. I have noticed a sag and discoloration on one block. I am deciding whether or not to replace it or reach out for warranty, but wanted to let folks know to flip and rotate the blocks.

This bed has been a great way to accommodate guests. They all say it’s extremely comfortable. Very nice furniture piece which so stealthily hides a queen bed. It also has plenty of storage in the drawer for bedding. FIVE STARS!!!

In theory, it's a great product. The item arrived in 3 large boxes. The base with the drawer came in one box, another box for the top portion which had to be assembled, and the mattress. I unpacked everything. Looked great. Discovered the dowel pins were missing. Trying calling and the answering service let me know that they'd be in touch within 10 days(?????). I went and bought pins that I could find and cut them to length. Got it put together and went to pull the draw our fully (I pulled it out partially during assembly with no issue). When I went to push it back in it got stuck so I pulled it back out to find one drawer glide separated with ball bearings falling out. Then noticed the drawer bottom was broke. As you see in the picture I was able to push it back into place. I've emailed the company no less than 3 times. Left several messages with their answering service. Tried Amazon and nothing. I can return it but trying to get it back into the boxes is beyond a job. Amazon has offered a partial refund but I'm not sure what that would be. I've even told them, I'd fix it if they sent a slide but still no response. I like to give companies the opportunity to make it right and have but now I'm not sure what to do. UPDATE: The company never responded. Amazon gave us the option to return for a refund (I have no idea how that would work because it is several hundred pounds and would get destroyed). or take a 25% refund to keep it. I found more damage, all six slides have to be replaced and a bracket has to be bent back in place. I think this may be easier than trying to lug it downstairs or disassemble and try to ship back.

Overall this seems like a good solid "chest high murphy bed", but the paint finish was of poor quality. It needed a 2nd or 3rd coat of paint and would be much nicer if it had a polyurethane top coat. The power outlet is nice, but the USB port was not high powered enough for my son's samsung galaxy 8 phone. The folding foam mattress seems nice and firm, but there was some confusing with the label indicating one type of mattress (sierra) vs. the cool-gel version that was in description. Turns out it has the cool-gel layer, but could not confirm until mattress was unrolled, which would have been an issue if it needed to be returned. CYMAX: Had a very frustrating time with Seller. Item was supposed to arrive within 2 week,s but shortly after order was delay a few days. When I checked tracking info, CYMAX provided incorrect tracking number with bulk frieght Shipper CEVA. Attempted to call CYMAX only to be directed to message center and emails. Email process was very slow, one exchange per day. It took them several days to get me the correct tracking number and phone number for CEVA. When I contacteed the shipper, they read back the phone number they had and it was incorrect, which further delayed the delivery. Overall, the delivery process was very frustrating. Fortunately, the product is decent, although as indicated, cheaply painted.

I had mixed feelings about getting this at first. The idea was perfect, but some of the reviews had me nervous about the delivery, packaging, and assembly. The delivery was as smooth as it could be. The guys to unloaded this were very nice and gave me no trouble. The packing was well done. As I unboxed everything, I looked over each piece and counted all the hard ware to make sure there was no damage and nothing was missing. I couldn’t find anything wrong. The wood is solid, so I expect this will last a long while. I was glad to see that most of this was already put together. Assembly took a couple minutes to figure out, but overall it was easy and straightforward. After putting everything together I laid on the bed to see how comfortable it is. Not too bad. It’s not as good as my bed, but it’s waaay better than a blow up mattress. This will be perfect for when the parents come to visit. I’m excited to have guests stay the night at my place now knowing they will be comfortable!

Spent way too many hours online researching cabinets beds that would fit against the 4' high kneewall in my guest room AND wouldn't interfere with flailing appendages during the night. The fact that the Madison fit and was heavily discounted (because Atlantic Furniture discontinued it), made it easier to accept a couple minor flaws in the finish. The bed arrived drop-ship to the curb in 3 boxes on a pallet wrapped in plastic film. We were able to carry the 2 boxes containing the wood portions to the front stoop, tip them up onto one end then lower the box onto the stoop and slide each thru the front door - these suckers are heavy! The mattress box is merely bulky. The protective cardboard and expanded polystyrene sheets used for packaging was extensive; the contents arrived undamaged. The base portion comes assembled. The drawers may be removed which make the piece much lighter to carry, say up a flight of stairs. My husband was quick to notice the assembly instruction included in the packaging were for the Nantucket model, as were some of the screws, washers, etc. So he downloaded the proper Madison instructions & we had no problems with assembly. The mattress is very comfortable. I was concerned the memory foam would be hot to sleep on but when I retreated to this bed while recovering from the flu, I was please to discovery how the combination of firm/soft/not hot was excellent. While demonstration videos showed only one person easily folding the mattress into the unit, I struggled. (May it was the mattress pad that I'd left on.)
