Husband wore this for Halloween. He says 4.5 stars would be more accurate - the arm bands and head band were pretty cheesy. The rest of the costume looked great. He has a bit of a belly, and it fit well and didn't look weird like some costumes can. Expect to wear something under it unless you enjoy a breeze. It really is like a huge white shirt with a brown apron and attached cape. He also bought the "Heavy Duty Plastic ROMAN LEG GUARDS gladiator costume," "300 The Movie, Spartan Shield, 17" Diameter," and "Rubies Long Roman Costume Sword." They were all pretty good, too. FYI, this costume doesn't include a sword and those aren't sandals, just leg wraps, so prepare to find those separately. He wore some Army green KEENS and they looked like part of the costume. (P.S. Excellent costume! I purchased 2 of these to be used in a Living Stations of the Cross presentation (Roman soldiers). I was worried that the costumes would be too big on middle school students, but they worked/fit beautifully. The costumes will be used for many years to come on various sized students. The costumes are well made and come with everything except headpiece, sword, and sandals. Due to the costumes, my students all want to portray the 2 Roman Soldiers in the Stations of the Cross next year!

I wear an XL and bought the XL. I felt it was a little large for me. I'm 6 foot tall and about 190. Total Dad Bod, I have skinny arms though, so the cuffs were oversized, and the arm bands just made my arms look smaller. The leg wraps stayed pretty well and didn't try to work around my leg too much as I had feared they would. I know that sounds like a lot of negative, but that is about it. After that I would say that this was a very successful Halloween costume. I looked pretty good in it, and looked like I spent more than I actually did on it. At least when comparing to what my friends spent on their costumes, this was a great buy and well worth the money. Make sure you get some brown sandals though, it does look pretty odd if you don't have the footwear to match. If you can find some like the model has you'll be set.

Great Costume! I purchased the Hercules costume for Halloween 2011. The costume looks just like it does in the picture and the material is durable enough to survive a few parties. I am 6'1, 200lbs, 36 inch waist, and with the "L (42-44)" costume everything fit well. Not to be overlooked is how comfortable and easy costumes like this are compared to anything involving masks/sharp edges/etc. Plus it has a cape. I liked it and (more importantly) my girlfriend loved it. It's a steal at <$40. The only negative: I ordered 2-day shipping and it took 3 (ordered Tuesday - delivered Friday), still in time for Halloween though.

Bought this costume for a halloween party last month. Did not want to spend too much money and wanted something simple to use. This costume was perfect. I’m 6’1 and 210 pounds, the L size fit me perfectly. Would definitely recommend it.

I purchased this for my teenaged sons. They are 5'10" or so and 180-ish. The Adult medium size fit them just fine. The fake leather part of the costume (brown) was, of course, all wrinkled when it arrived squished in the package. I was able to smooth it out by ironing on a low setting from the backside with a damp cloth. I think if you used a high heat the "fabric" would melt. So, be very careful! The white undergarment is very thin. You will need to wear shorts under it. The red cape is awesome. And, all the accessories that come with the costume are adjustable - the arm bands, the headband, the leg things...great stuff! The wrist covers are a little big but not overly so. The little kids at VBS this summer were very impressed with the "Roman soldiers" that came to see them.
