I wore Sambas in my late teens (I'm now 39 years old). I'm convinced that either my feet didn't matter to me as much back then (I also lived in Doc Marten's year-round and in any weather conditions, so I was probably just "tougher" back then :P )....or that they have SEVERELY changed the insole in these shoes over the years. I don't recall having any gripes with them back then. I bought a pair at an Adidas outlet several years back. Tried them on, and although the arch-support felt awfully "high" and stiff to me...I didn't think much of it. I figured I'd get used to them in time. Wore them the whole next day, and when I got home...I literally felt like my instep was bruised. I seriously threw the shoes in the trash that night because I was so irritated with them. Flash-forward to about 2 weeks ago. I thought about getting another pair of Sambas...but even at a sub-$40 price-point...I couldn't really justify buying another pair of shoes just to throw them in the trash again....so I did a little research. I figured I couldn't possibly be the only person to think that these shoes were unfathomably uncomfortable. Almost torturously so. So I googled something like "uncomfortable Samba insoles" or something of the sort...and stumbled upon a true godsend. Some ingenious and benevolent soul uploaded a YouTube video that addressed my exact concern. Come to find out...the Samba insoles are VERY easy to remove. When you do so and flip them over...there is a white rubber piece that is attached with an easily removable adhesive that you can peel the entire arch-support off with literally no effort. Slip the insoles back in, and BOOM....comfortable Sambas. I will admit that even with the ridiculous arch-support removed, there is still a little more arch than I would prefer due to the shape of the shoe in general (I prefer my insoles virtually flat)...but it's the difference between having a pair of shoes I can wear every day...and having a pair of shoes that would go immediately in the trash. If my above description of how to perform minor surgery on your Sambas is confusing, Google "How to remove samba insole" video....it'll be the first thing that comes up in YouTube. It seriously couldn't have been a quicker or easier fix. Without this "hack"...these shoes would be a negative 15 in terms of any kind of comfort unless you like your shoes with a ridiculous amount of stiff arch-support. Hopefully this review will help someone else that had the same issue as me, because for the price I bought them for (again...I got them for a little under $40) I doubt you'll find a better value on a name-brand shoe...as long as you can comfortably wear them.

I like the wide shoe with tight toes in case I still kick but the best part is that there is not too much padding and arch support to make me feel like a cripple. A good shoe is required for healthy feet and balancing which is destroyed by arch support and other padding. I love to feel the contours of the ground instead of the padding of some sole. These are not that pricey shoes but their price is steadily going up in that they fall apart faster. I used to have them for years and now tend to have to buy them every other year. The back part is made of cardboard or something easily broken which makes me sad to see go after a year now):

ok so i was soooo worried ab the sole being the grey/ coal color but thankfully mine sent in the right witht he lighter brown soles, id say theyre true to size im usually a 9 / 9/12 and i got an 8 they fit perfect super comfortable and my foot is not that narrow. i tucked my tongue in and relaced it and it made squeaky sounds but i put vaseline on the leather part of the tongue and it fixed it right up. these r soo cute and go rlly well w any type of outfit

I have a very active job where I run around a lot (on my feet for 12-18 hours/day), some of which involves a decent amount of climbing around. So here are all the reasons that I continue to buy 2 pairs of these shoes each year (know that I wear them out that fast, but also I buy 1 pair for work and 1 for personal use/exercise): - They are made with leather that forms to your foot as you break them in. - You can literally climb walls with them (in the rock/tree climbing sense (but not the way spiderman does). - I have bunions and these are the only shoes that don't crush my feet/are wide enough to wear, pain-free. - The best thing about these is that unlike almost every other brand (Nike, Asics, Vans, Puma, New Balance, Reebok, Converse, I could go on because I have literally tried them all) they don't have an overabundance of padding/cushioning - which is exactly what has kept me from getting shin splints, calf pain, arch pain, and horrible pain from my bunions.

Tried these on at the store and they fit perfect. Received these today and the left shoe is almost a half inch longer than the right shoe. They are both labeled as US 8 Mens. The right shoe fits perfect but the left shoe feels like an 8 1/2. This seems like a manufacturer error but Adidas said to contact amazon even though they are listed as customer support for this product. Currently waiting on the replacement. EDIT: Received replacements that are both the same size in 1 business day.

I love these shoes so much. They are so comfortable and stylish. I have high arches and they support them well. I wear them pretty much every time I go out because they match any outfit. My foot is a 9 however I bought these in a 10 (Mens 8) and they fit perfect.
