This is the best shoe Adidas has released in 5+ years. I almost gave up on Adidas. Stiff cushioning, but softens after 50 miles use. Upper is ok. I had a problem with the tongue irritating the top of my foot and cut out that section to relieve the pressure. Toe box is wide for a Boston. I found that the Boston 10 is almost identical except the upper (including the tongue) is much more comfortable on the 10. The Boston 11s buck the trend of softer, high stacked shoes by being quite firm. I do prefer stiff running shoes with plates, or in this case rods, to encourage proper form. Unfortunately, the upper is incredibly stiff, particularly the tongue. Like others have said, the edge of the tongue is sharp and stiff enough to cause pain and discomfort. The shoe does have enough flex that I can run confidently in them, but the moment I walk the stiffness becomes almost unbearable. Reducing the tightness of the laces does not seem to improve the situation much. I may have to put on two pairs of socks to alleviate the discomfort. ... show more
