What I like: - light weight shorts, perfect for hot weather What I don't like: - Dated polyester shorts style - Shallow pockets with no zip or button to secure phone or wallet - Minimalist construction, no lining, wicking waistband, pocket support, etc. I was looking for a pair of summer shorts to help keep me cool in the Florida heat. These Adidas Adi Advantage shorts looked ideal, a sports brand, designed for outdoor activities, what could go wrong? Out the package I wasn't impressed by the fabric. It is light weight, and quick drying, but it has the texture and appearance of polyester suit pants. This impression wasn't helped by the traditional styling which meant that when I tried them on my wife's first comment was that I looked like I'd borrowed my almost eighty year old father-in-laws old shorts. This isn't a youthful, active design. Wearing them I found the cut straight and baggy rather than slim and fitted. The waistband lacks a wicking/gripping liner, so unless they are a perfect fit or tightly belted they tend to ride down. The pockets are thin for breathability, and also relatively shallow becoming bulky rapidly with a wallet, handkerchief and keys. The back pockets also lack any zip or button security, so a phone or wallet easily bounces about and can fall out at anything more than a slow pace. Not ideal when I spend a lot of time chasing after my four year old kid! Overall, they are shorts, they do the job if they are your kind of thing, but for me I found the style and finish far below my expectations. A disappointing 3 out of 5 stars. ... show more
