  • What’s the catch? Answer: nothing that I can find !
I have to admit when I first went to the tire store and found out that the tires I needed for my 2010 Infiniti G 37S luxury sports car were $225 I was very skeptical when I found these Achilles tires on Amazon for only $65 . I couldn’t help but ask myself the question what’s the catch? Are they rejects? ? Are they Square instead of round? Are they going to fly apart once I drive them up to 80 miles an hour? I have since put about 5000 miles on them and I can tell you with 100% certainty there’s no gimmick no catch involved here. They may not be the most expensive awesome tire you can buy but I feel comfortable in saying that they should last you somewhere between 15 to 20,000 miles which seems to be the average of most tired I’ve ever owned . Yes you can push tires to 30,000 miles but usually you’re running on some pretty low tread by that point . Yes I’m a real person, not somebody they paid to do this. ... show more

  • Not Used As Intended, Worked Fine.
I slapped these rubbers on the back of my Hyundai Genesis Coupe (3.8 Track for those wondering). I drove around for a week, and then put a thousand miles on them in just a couple days. Then I burned them down. They handle street digs decent. Spun more than the nittos I tried but not as bad as other tires. Mostly my fault, gotta work on my launches. Decent traction when rolling, hard to get her to step out. Usually have to clutch kick it pretty hard in second to slide. Once they’re out, they have so much sideways control. Decent tire for drifting on a budget. Predictable, grippy, and consistent all the way through the tread. There are some cons. With the grip, life is shorter. I will say I didn’t see any wear when I drove them halfway across the country, but when I started drifting on them, they went pretty fast (our drift surfaces suck). Also, not a lot of smoke for how fast they burn. If I’m burning down tires this fast I want to see it. Although these tires got me through several sessions while also getting me to work in between. If you’re trying to drift on a budget, these are good. ... show more

  • Pontiac G8 GT
Installed these on my Pontiac G8 GT with 19" Pontiac rims. Not sure what others are expecting, but these are working great. I have 3000 miles on the tires and they are quiet, smooth and look great. I use Blizzak tires on different rims in the winter and personally wouldn't want to use the ATR Sport 2 tires in the winter. I found a place in Burnsville, MN that demounted and recycled my old Bridgestone Potenza summer tires, mounted the Achilles and did a great job of balancing all for $16 per tire (I had to mount wheels on the car for that price). The tire price seems to move around depending on the time of year. I'm very happy with the purchase at a great price and will consider Achilles all season tires for my Wife's Yukon Denali in the future. ... show more

  • Poverty Level Princess Goals
So I love my 2016 mazda6. I don't love the price of the factory size tires! These technically are a size up, but if you want something that fits, with a little meatier look, yes this'll work ;) The tires themselves, no I don't think are quite as smooth-riders as the Dunlop, but so far they're well, tires? I drive about 12k miles a year. I've had them on there for about 2k so far, and as far as grip and everyday wear and tear, so far so good. Yes, I'm glad I got these! As far as Amazon's service to get them put onto your vehicle - I guess 3 stars. I had them shipped straight to Mavis tire and set up my appointment online. That was fine and all, but when I got there I was informed that appointments weren't generally made that far in advance, and they had almost sold my tires to someone else. As far as their system, it just reads as "Amazon order," with no real way to verify my order by name except the car model, and no way to contact me should be needed. Glad there was no duplicates this time! The people were nice and helpful, but this service does not come with an alignment. Eh? Tires, yes! Service associated... Maybe I'll have them shipped to my house and make my own appointments. ... show more

  • Perfect.
The tires perform great for daily use. Have not tracked or abused the tires. These are on my Genesis Coupe as a daily. Some reviews have complained about road noise, not an issue with audio on to low to mid setting. Driven roughly 5,000 miles on them and they look new. The tires perform well during rain as well. Overall, I have not noticed a difference between other tires costing 2x to 3x.. However, if you drive super aggressively or take your car to the track, confidence your tires will perform at peak usage might be worth more than what these instill. Would definitely buy again for daily driving! ... show more

  • Value for money; not a true ultra high performance summer tire replacement
Replaced a pair of Firestone Indy 500s on the rear of my daily/track G35. Daily driving, they ride fine. Had them road force balanced and they both came out within spec despite slightly bent wheels. (11 lbs and 15 lbs) Noticeably less traction than my Firestone Indy 500s, It's much easier to spin the tires from a launch. Also much easier to chirp second gear. Fun on the street, more than enough traction anywhere near the speed limit. At the track (trackcross) though, they clearly had much less grip than the Indy 500s on the front and I'd lose the rear end on corner turn in at track speeds. The car used to understeer at the limit (at much faster speeds) with Indy 500s on the back. Wouldn't run these again on the track, unless it was a drift event. 4 stars because I wish they weren't advertised as "ultra high performance" as they're not really up to the task of grip racing. Would love these in a 300-350 tread wear summer only tire. Or even better a streetable 200 tread wear (minimum SCCA autocross tread wear before getting bumped up classes) ... show more

  • Truly a High Performance Tire at the right price.
I have ran these tires about 35,000 miles on my car now. I went through my first set pretty quickly because of camber wear, but am about 20,000 miles into the next set of tires now and they are down to 6/32 (just long enough to make it through winter, replaced suspension arms with adjustable between sets). These are a really great set of tires. Wish they were easier to find local. ... show more
