  • Annoying vertical screen tearing
Style: WQHD (2560x1440) Size: 27-inch
I lowered my rating from 5 starts to 1 star. The monitor is good. Moving from 60Hz to 144Hz is actually an amazing experience. However, this monitor appears to have a known defect. In the middle of the screen there are times when a random vertical tear will appear. The tear is approximately 6 pixels wide. To accurately describe it, it seems as if someone removed a vertical strip 6 pixels wide from the middle of the screen and relocated it to the far right. It is extremely noticeable, and the only way for me to fix it is to repeatedly power off and power back on the monitor. Many others have reported the issue, and so far the only permanent solution I read was to return the monitor to Acer for them to patch it. Hopefully they sort out this issue in future revisions... but all for now, I wouldn't recommend it. ... show more

  • Afraid of buying a TN panel and not IPS? Read this review. Excellent monitor.
Style: WQHD (2560x1440) Size: 27-inch
At first I was sceptical about getting this because it was a TN and not an IPS panel. However, after getting it and having it now for a week. I can honestly say that I'm happy I took the chance. G-SYNC is worth every penny, any shooter game is like night vs day. Really makes all shooters feel completely different, and makes you better as a player. I've always had a 60hz monitor, some even 4k. I can really see what people mean when they say that 2k gaming at 144hz is the (sweet spot) and I will never go back to 60hz again. If you are like me, and are concerned that the TN panel will disappoint you. Take it from me, I spent an entire week debating and watching videos. I'm very happy that I took the chance, if you have any doubts then take my word and go for it. This is the very first time I have spent this much on a monitor, and I definitely do not regret it. ... show more

  • Beautiful looking display with BAD back light bleed.
Style: WQHD (2560x1440) Size: 32-inch
I was super excited to get the 27” 4k HDR 144hz Gsync XB273k Sbmiprzx monitor. The box and packaging are great, the look of the monitor itself is fantastic however, it has extremely bad light bleed in both top corners. There is light bleed in the bottom corners however I would say it’s somewhat acceptable. Having come from a PG279Q IPS panel with acceptable light bleed this XB273K is just unacceptable imo. Even turning the back light down to 80 nits, it’s still visible in games. One can almost get away with some light bleed on a black screen and when you’re playing a game it should be really hard to tell and I can safely say, it’s extremely noticeable in game. Not matter what settings I tired it was evidently there. Maybe I got a bad one? Either way I’m returning for a refund. I just can’t take another gamble on this monitor. Acer if you’re reading this, you should consider giving the backlight parts more room on the inside especially on the edges and just make the monitor deeper/thicker. You can still have a small bevel edge but imo, it seems like there is pressure on the corners, thus pressing against the screen causing the light to bleed through. It needs more space and I don’t think people would have an issue with a thicker display if it helped with the bleed through. Just my opinion. The monitor sitting on the desk does look beautiful though. ... show more

  • Please Acer, work on your customer support...
Style: WQHD (2560x1440) Size: 27-inch
After 3 months it's already producing stuck pixels. Fantastic colors and looks amazing, but because there is not "more than 4 dead pixels" in the middle of my display they refused to take it for repair. It's a friggin red pixel! So much for customer support, they barely even spoke English. Not satisfied at all. Update 7/16/18: So, after not having a monitor for an entire month (after sending my monitor back for repairs for the problems listed above), I finally got the monitor back. Outside packaging looked fine, and everything should have worked as intended. NOPE! The panel was dropped before shipping and they sent me my monitor back in even worse condition. After a long talk with Acer customer support, they told me that their American offices would contact me. Luckily, they did. I would raise the rating, however there has been such a massive disconnect between me and Acer that I have no idea what is going on, and not to mention it didn't seem like they were doing anything until I contacted them to figure out what was even happening! It's almost been 2 months! Would I recommend this product? When it works, it works, and gets the job done splendidly. However trying to put up with customer support (or lack thereof) and all of the hassle that I've gone through, I don't think I'll ever go Acer again. ... show more
