  • This is the curved 34” ultrawide you have been looking for!
Size: 34-inch Style: WQHD (3440 x 1440) Pattern: Monitor
I’ve had this monitor for a few days now and I have been really impressed with it. I had just bought a flat samsung 34” VA ultrawide (SJ55W) from Costco that I was having issues with and ended up returning for this and the difference has been night and day better with the Acer. The option to turn on Gsync does show and when I turn it on it looks to be working fine with no flickering. I’ve already put in a few hours playing Rocket League and THPS 1+2 and the experience has been smooth with no issues. Both of those games run around 144hz in 3440x1440 pretty easily with the 1070 and they really show how vibrant the colors on this VA panel can be. I’ve tweaked the color profile on this monitor a few times and recommend doing so to get it to your liking, depending on the settings you can have a drastically looking image from what the factory settings are. There are a couple of good comments here in the Amazon reviews with good color settings. Also, this monitor is very bright and the colors and brightness are balanced evenly throughout the monitor even in the corners. Currently I have the monitor set to about 60% brightness and that’s fine for me. The experience I have described so far has been with my Windows PC, I’ve also been using it with my Macbook Pro 15” for software dev work and it has been working great with it as well. The text is nice and legible and the viewing angles are geeat, the only thing that takes some getting used to is the curve since it’s definitely pretty curved. Another reviewer mentioned they didn’t think the curve was 1500R, but to me it sure does seem like it. Any more curved would be overkill imo. The only options I was given for refesh rate on the mac was 60hz, 75hz and 100hz. By default it was set on 100hz for the mac, but I did notice what I believed was flickering maybe every 5 minutes. Once I switched the mac down to 75hz the issue was gone. Not sure if that’s a mac issue or if it’s because it’s connected to the HDMI input. I have my windows machine connected to the display port with the provided cable and have not noticed the same issue. The inputs are detected pretty quickly and it switches between the two without issue. The on screen display has a lot of options and is pretty easy to use with the joystick, the only thing I noticed is if you want to manually switch inputs you do have to click like 3-4 options to accomplish this, instead of just a quick side to side input switch like other monitors. I have this monitor mounted on top of two other 27” Dell IPS HDR displays and the colors and brightness are definitely comparable. The only thing where the IPS shines is that text is a bit crisper, but even that is just marginally better. For a VA panel I am really impressed with the crispness of this display. The box that this monitor came in was pretty massive, albeit a pretty basic looking box. Inside there was just the styrofoam holders for the monitor which seemed pretty protective and then it also came with a hdmi and DisplayPort cable. The power cable for this is just a straight cable with no brick which is nice. The stand is pretty decent as well, I’m not using the stand at all since I have this monitor mounted, but the stand looks nice and sturdy and I don’t think it would have any issue with holding this monitor as the monitor itself isn’t too heavy. I had been looking for the right 34” ultrawide monitor to buy at this price point and so far I’ve been happy with this, as long as I don’t run into any unforeseen issues *knocks on wood*, I’m definitely keeping this. ... show more

  • Amazing quality for an incredible price.
Size: 34-inch Style: QHD 165Hz Pattern: Monitor
I finally made the jump from a standard 16:9 1080p to the 21:9 1440p QHD. I spent a couple weeks weighing options, watching product demos, learning the differences between VA panels, and IPS panels, etc. After all of that I decided to go with this monitor and I couldn’t be happier with the decision. I’ve always been a fan of Acer displays, and this ultrawide has made me continue to love the brand. The contrast is great - much deeper blacks that my previous display. Fast pixel response time, high refresh rate, and very minimal bezel. I also have not noticed a single dead pixel, nor have I seen any back-light bleed or blotchiness. For a VA display, this is probably the best deal you can find. The only step up would be to go IPS, or OLED, but either option would result in either twice or three times the cost for, in my opinion, minimal increases in quality. ... show more

  • Great Monitor at a great price - replaces 2 curved 32" monitors
Size: 34-inch Style: WQHD (3440 x 1440) Pattern: Monitor
This monitor is excellent! I use it for software development & video editing. It does have speaker(s), probably equivalent to standard speakers on a laptop, but they have no bass and point away, as they're positioned behind the monitor and project behind. I don't buy monitors for their speakers, so just having them is a plus for me. The monitor stand and tilting is excellent! With one hand, you can raise or lower, by about 5-6 inches! You can also tilt upward/downward with a good range. This is a great feature when you want to change your posture or move your eyes a bit. The power cord is a "standard PC cord" - no special cables, and takes up only 1 slot on the power strip. Big kudos to Acer for this! I often buy duplicates, so this means I don't have to spend $80 on a replacement adapter - just use any standard PC/Printer cable you have around! Shipped with two HDMI cables, so you can have 2 inputs to the same monitor. I can't speak to these features, but good on Acer to provide all the things you'll need! I normally use 2 Samsung 32" curved monitors, but one was lost in a move. Instead of buying another of the same, I decided to look at these ultra-wide, higher-resolution monitors. In all, with the extra real estate on a single monitor, vs. 2 monitors, you're not restricted with things like wide spreadsheets, side-by-side video editing, etc. You can make your app-windows any size! I hope to never go back to anything less than 34"! Think "really wide spreadsheets", with an email next to it, or a video editor, browsing assets beside. Owning a business, I generally have 2 of everything (keyboards, mice, etc.); one set in the office, and one set in the living room. I was planning on using my old 32"curved in the living room, but this monitor is so amazing, I went ahead and purchased another. Plus, with the physical height being less, and the ability to easily adjust the height so much, it is more convenient to see the TV as well. With the "pole" as as stand, I can also easily move it around, so if I want it in front of me, or off to the side for more desk space, it's super easy. Once you go to this resolution, you won't go back. I chose this monitor twice, because the 49" monitors don't seem to have the 1440p height, at least not in my price range. This one does, and having the extra height & the same width as those 49" monitors, is amazing for productivity! I've been buying Acer computers for well over a decade, and same for Samsung monitors. Acer has me on the monitors, too. Especially with the simple power cord, price point, features and quality so far! ... show more
