  • Good monitor
Size: 23.6-inch
I bought this to use for my Xbox FPS games (primarily PUBG) since I was playing on a 42" TV. The 1ms response 144hz makes a difference. I can see distance much better and the picture is much clearer. Also less screen blur and a clearer transitions when going from target to target. ADS is smoother as well. Just overall smoothness. Character seems to do what I want at the same time I'm pressing the button instead of just a slight out of sync feel. I also have this as a dual monitor to my iMac. Bought a $10 cable from Amazon to connect and everything worked out well. Monitor has numerous settings to adjust to your level of brightness, sharpness, rendering, etc. I don't understand it all but I've tweaked a few things for me and it appears to be working well. Also has a gaming setting where you can optionally include a permanent crosshair to the center of the screen. Might work well on some games but it doesn't line up correctly for PUBG so it's a no go. Has 2 HDMI ports and a DP. Comes with a 3' HDMI cable and power cord. Has mount points if you want to mount and comes with a easy to assemble stand. Only thing I wish it had was 4k but that would make it too expensive and I really don't need it. Still a HD monitor. ... show more

  • 1 Month of Use Bought in Early Feb 2021 (Updated 8 Months of Use)
Size: 27-inch
Onboard Monitor Menu: Yes it is accessible by a joystick, plus you have 3 buttons to help you select different categories or customizable modes. Frame and Edges: 0.5 inches from the edge we start to see the screen. This means that 1 inch would separate two of these monitors side-by-side. This is fairly decent for a dual setup, I would personally invest in a 2k/4k monitor setup to bundle with this monitor. Viewing Angles: This monitor truly has very sharp and stunning viewing angles, furthermore it is perfect for doing editing on a budget. Brightness or Luminance: Extremely bright in fact, it is crazy bright. I have mine running on 0% brightness with night mode enable and it is still bright. I would have to tweak the settings outside of the brightness to dim the light on this monitor. This is an LCD LED backlight panel. Response Rate: HDMI 2.0 and a display cable out of the box that supports up to 165hz. I have not experienced any form of ghosting, I do not have a GPU so I am currently running a Ryzen 2200g APU. I have played Apex Legends, COD War Zone, and League of Legends. I am unable to test other games as I am without the RTX 3080 at this time. Adjustability: The monitor is able to tilt up or down. You would need a mounting stand to support the landscape view. This desktop mount is very sturdy. Display: Full 1080p FHD LCD LED Backlight Screen. This monitor arrived in a thick Styrofoam package. 100% free of dead pixels, I could not believe it myself 0 dead pixels. I have friends who bought pricey monitors that came with dead pixels. Surprisingly I have none of those issues. I did however noticed minor IPS glow. I would say very small amounts as it is almost not noticeable until the screen is pitch black and you have to stare in the left corner to see it. Comfortable on the eyes and suitable for gaming for extended periods. Monitor Size: 27-inch monitors range between 24''-25'' wide and 14''-18'' tall depending on how they measure the height. This monitor checks out as a 27-inch monitor based on my measurement check. Monitor Appearance (Build Quality): Black color finish with red accents at the stand, barely noticeable. Blue lit indicator when the monitor is on and dark orange when the monitor is off. I feel that ACER could have included some red glow backlight on the back, or a fancy imprint on the plastic to make it fancy. Speakers: Very good if you want to watch YouTube or listen to calm music while working/studying. I would not recommend them for your daily driver but they are nice to have. They are not so loud about 93 Decibels between the two of them. Contrast Ratio: Dark blacks satisfactory but could have been better. It is an IPS monitor which helps to deliver quality images. I have not yet adjusted the contrast because I am happy with the way it is. Bezels: Extremely narrow and handly noticeable unless you use some stretchy wallpaper. Stuck pixels nope 0%. 8 Months of Use Update: (Still I am unable to buy a 6900xt or an RTX 3080 at this point, I am thinking of getting a PS5 for this monitor until then) HDMI cable is rather unstable after 8 months, as a true chad I found out that watching some videos from some sites affected the image delivered to the display. It would need me to plug it out an in again, strangely this was not the monitor going bad it was just that the HDMI was not of that good aftermarket quality. Brightness - The nits on this thing is insane, very bright for some reason but I like it. I would give this Monitor a 9/10 for 1080p gaming. ... show more

  • Wonderful for eye/headache issues
Size: 23.6-inch
I wrote 2 reviews already that got eaten by the Vapor Monster and didn't post, so I'll keep this shorter. I love this monitor and am frankly quite stunned. I suffer from severe occipital migraines and lots of eye issues which has forced me to barely be online anymore. I have gone through 4 monitors in the last 7 years, and even bought a $ special monitor recommended by the Epilepsy foundation which has a built in Blue Screen filter. AND I use an app that is a blue screen filter. AND I wear yellow industrial sunglasses. Result? I have no idea what colors I'm looking at, I look silly, and all I did was fiddle with controls. None of this helped. I was about to give up when I thought well, I'll buy a new monitor, and see how it goes. This monitor was a great price and I have been very happy with past Acer products so I bought it. I sat with my mouth open for about 40 minutes while hooking this monitor up. It is beautiful. Crisp, clear and best of all, the controls to change brightness/contrast/and everything else are SO easy and intuitive. Best yet, this monitor has a FAST refresh rate (I have mine on a refresh rate of 120) which is vital to easing eyestrain and headaches. (Most monitors stick you at 60 which is *the* exact refresh rate that induces epileptic episodes and other brain/neurological issues - even feeling icky or having your heart speed up as you watch movies or play games.) There are tons of gaming options, color options, calibrating. I'm sure other reviewers have gone into all this, so I won't. I do a lot of graphic work on photos and love looking at other people's artwork and photos - this monitor has me seeing details of things I swear weren't even there. I have been able to do much more and I can read text so much better. I alos like that I can change the resolution of the screen since moving my eyes a lot causes issues so I don't "need" this big a screen but in the past when I'd try to change it the pages wouldn't show well. The text would get smashed, shrink down to ant-size or I just couldn't do it. I haven't had any problem even putting it on 800x600 though I do have it bigger. I also like that the black frame around the screen is a bit wider than most so is perfect for Post-It notes, reminders and Hello Kitty stickers (no computer is compete without some.) This is just terrific, I highly recommend. ... show more
