If you're searching for one monitor that excels at both productivity and gaming, the Acer Nitro XV325QK MiniLED IPS is an outstanding choice. I made the switch after experiencing eye strain from OLED text fringing, which made my previous display unsuitable for extended work sessions. Several advantages this monitor has over OLED: - Excellent text clarity without fringing, particularly in SDR with local dimming turned off (HDR forces it on). - No burn-in concerns. - 1000-nit HDR with vivid colors that hold up in bright rooms. Blooming is visible on small bright objects against black, but the 1152 dimming zones keep it mostly limited to star‑field scenes. Out of the box the panel looked slightly warped. It looked slightly popped outwards. Not overly obvious at a glance, but once I opened up a game I immediately noticed that the horizon was a bit curved. Using DSC caused the monitor to freeze. Connected using a DP cable (didn't test this with HDMI) if I had DSC activated at all then if I toggled HDR then the image would freeze after a few seconds. Windows would continue to run normally in the background and if I restarted the monitor it would work again, but if I toggled HDR in any way whatsoever the monitor image would just freeze. Also if I let my desktop idle and turn off the monitor the monitor would cease to recognize signals from the desktop unless I restarted the desktop or the monitor. Tested with two different devices over three cables (two DP 2.1 and one 1.4) so it's definitely the monitor. This effectively locks you to 4k 120 hz, a far cry from the advertised 4k 160 hz so that's disappointing. Haloing is an issue. I don't think we're anywhere near the point that haloing won't be an issue until miniled tech advances much further. Even with dimming set to Fast you can definitely see haloing just moving the mouse cursor around on a dark background. It's basically the opposite problem of OLEDs where instead of not being able to display white images properly due to white-dimming with minileds you can't display dark images properly because of haloing. At least you can turn localized dimming off so you don't get haloing, though obviously at the cost of contrast. Acer website is borked. It's apparently been a problem for a while based on comments I found while looking for solutions, but you can't access it with Chrome. Use Edge or Firefox and it'll work, but if you use Chrome it'll stop working for some reason after a couple of clicks. So if you're like me and tried to get support or drivers from their website, there's your solution. This monitor has no way of connecting to a computer with USB meaning you'll never be able to update its firmware. This is an issue because a lot of its issues could've been solved with firmware updates, but they cheaped out there so no. They do have a widget for their monitors, but installing it absolutely destroyed the brightness on my monitor for some reason. I had it calibrated to my liking, but installing the widget made everything much darker for some reason and I couldn't turn the brightness up anymore with either the widget or the monitor controls. As in no matter how high I toggled brightness the monitor didn't really get any brighter. Since brightness could be adjusted before I installed the widget, it's just more software issues, essentially. Switching it to the HDR preset let me get it bright again, but with user settings or any of the presets (aside from HDR) brightness seemed to be locked really low and even maxing out brightness didn't seem to make it brighter than ~150 nits (I don't have the tools to directly measure it but it's dimmer than my other monitor that's at ~180 nits). I have no idea why this would happen, but it was an issue I ran into. If all you're doing is using the monitor in SDR at low brightness and not over DisplayPort (maybe it has HDMI issues, I didn't test), then it's not too far off from other monitors priced where it is. But if you're buying it for its claimed DisplayHDR 1000 capabilities and expecting anything decent? Or just want a monitor you can actually use without issues? I cannot recommend AGAINST this monitor enough. Maybe at $200, but not anything over $250 at most IMO.

I've had this monitor for a few weeks now and I love it but also its not perfect and its not for everyone. Getting the important out of the way: as a 4k monitor, its amazing. The contrast is great I find in SDR and HDR. Colors pop. Its amazing for a bright space where other monitors struggle with glare and other light sources. I'm pairing this with a 4070 TI Super and with DLSS on, Cyberpunk looks amazing and smooth. No smearing, amazing details. I love it. Here's where the compromises begin to show: While my unit had no issues in terms of dead pixels, etc., I do find the monitor to be a frustrating experience due to cut corners which all link back to the reality of Acer being a budget brand. HDR in OSD (monitor's built in setting menu) does no turn on when I turn on HDR via Windows 11. I have found software work arounds that work for me but it was frustrating to trouble shoot. Even Acer software you will find mentioned in posts online about this monitor was frustrating as Acer's website will decide "I am just not working today". When you do finally get the Acer Display Widget software to work, you will notice that its very cheap and even has Chinese characters in the menu, even though its from the Acer US support site. Outside of just trying to get the monitor to work how I was expecting it to, the only way I have found this budget mindset to effect me is 2 fold 1) The local dimming algorithm isn't the best. In HDR, you will see blooming if you're looking for it and sometimes even if you are not. White text on a black loading screen will have an aura. Blooming tests online gave me a lightening like visual which is not good at all. That being said, I do not notice anything in actual gameplay so this is very much not a deal breaker for me. 2) There is no USB port so there will be no firmware updates for this model. Which is a shame as it could have been a down the road issue to issue #1. But I got this on sale for about $150 off MSRP as of the time of writing and I'm seeing that price drop was not the only time. As such, I am really ok with these compromises/frustrations as I'm getting 31.5" 4k HDR that works in my bright environment for a fraction of all the other options out there (OLED, other miniled options that just work). Buy it on sale for a price you're happy with and be ok with tinkering/be resourceful and I think you'll love this monitor too. TL;DR: Good monitor, be willing to tinker to get it to work how you want it to work. Would very much recommend especially on a good sale in the current market.

My main problem with this monitor is the incorrect positioning of the bottom edges of the screen. Basically, I can see half of the Windows toolbar. I tried HDMI, DP, and different computers, but nothing helped. Resetting the monitor also didn't help. The second problem: the screen surface isn't glossy, but matte (so this is false advertising). The third problem is the viewing angles: you can clearly see the image brightness change on the left and right sides of the screen if you move your head even slightly. The dimming zones are very poor, so I turned them off. I also accidentally blocked the OSD and had to search for a way to unblock it. I couldn't find a page for this monitor on the Acer website; there are no instructions as such, so I was lucky I figured it out.

Effectively uncalibrated hdr with a noticeable red tint when in hdr, annoying. Slight scratches on the monitor display, indicative of mediocre packaging- thankfully not noticeable when display is on. OSD settings basically entirely locked down when in HDR mode. Why bother calibrating only SDR on a monitor clearly intended for HDR usage?

This monitor is outstanding. The display is bright enough to be used in the sun room, the included cable allowed me to run high refresh rates. The stand is very adjustable, it has a few connectivity options, and assembly was easy.

Review updated. The $450 question we wanted to know is should we buy it? No. After dealing with multiple units and the delays to get the refund, it's been anything but a worthwhile venture. My replacement monitor came in without dead pixels or scratches, but introduced new issues that made it much worse of an experience than the damaged one; screen would randomly garble (tried multiple HDMI/DP cords) and the bloom was unbearable. Even in SDR, the screen causing a crazy glow. Perhaps the worst bloom I've ever encountered. And nothing you can adjust helped such as (dramatically) dropping brightness to 30%, adjusting active dimming, or adjusting for overshoot. Worse, transparent windows suffered flickering. My first unit left me with a hopeful impression; they can do something to get a better result. This was the opinion of someone who hadn't waited over a week for a refund and another for a replacement. I can't recommend this monitor or the headaches it imposes to play its wildly unfavorable game of lottery. Terrible packaging, horrible QC, and I'm beginning to think whatever liquid crystal
