  • Product failure after 3 months
CPU: Intel Celeron N3350 Capacity: 4GB/32GB Style: Chromebook Only
The product worked fine for 3 months. It was easy to use, and had all the capabilities my child required for virtual school (mostly run on Google meets and Zoom). 3 months after we received it, the device stopped working completely - black screen even when power was on. I spent an hour with Acer customer support. They tried to walk me through a system recovery, but the device would not execute the recovery. My daughter begins virtual school in one week. I asked the customer service to replace my product, but they refused. They will only agree to have me ship it to the factory for service, and I must wait 3+ weeks for repair. I argued that breaking after 3 months of use indicates product defect, and that they should replace it. It is under full warranty. They will not do so. So, I am warning parents to consider another chrome book product, as the company - ACER - will not stand behind their products when defective. ... show more

  • Horrible product --- Replaced 3X and died all three--would not charge---TRASH!
CPU: Intel Celeron N3350 Capacity: 4GB/32GB Style: Chromebook Only
Trash! I bought this item in March and it broke in May, right after the return window. I had to beg Amazon to send me a replacement. Guess what, that one broke 5 months later in September. Same issue the chromebook would not charge. It just died while plugged in and that was it. The same thing happened three separate times on three different chromebooks --- same model. There must be a defect with this model. It was so expensive, I expected a much better product. It is unacceptable that Acer is selling this piece of trash for over $300. It is not worth $50. ... show more

  • Disappointing!
CPU: Intel Celeron N3350 Capacity: 4GB/32GB Style: Chromebook Only
Read several good reviews and decided to go with the Acer Spin 11 as a new machine for my 9 year old in anticipation of extended remote learning in the fall, but am returning it. Slow response, keyboard sporadically not working for minutes at a time, spongy keys and a semi-responsive touchpad. Hard to fathom the positive reviews - maybe I got a dud. ... show more

  • I might have got a lemon
CPU: Intel Celeron N3350 Capacity: 4GB/32GB Style: Chromebook Only
Bought based on reviwes and nice price. I was able to turn on initially to create account for our daughter given main use was to be for upcoming distance learning. However, the screen went dark after setup and I could not get it to come back on. There are posts available on how to correct, but it didn't work for me and I didn't want to be dealing with this when schools starts, so I returned the item. Liked the device otherwise, keyboard was nicely laid out, it looked nice. ... show more

  • You get what you pay for. Screen works. Battery life is good. Inappropriate ads.
CPU: Intel Celeron N3350 Capacity: 4GB/32GB Style: Chromebook Only
So.....we have had these since March 31st. I got one for each of my daughters to do school. In the middle of her schoolwork she gets ads that constantly pop up...not just any ads, but some are explicit and provocative. I have tried to set the settings to where they are blocked. It has local singles in the area with half naked women on it which is inappropriate for her age to be seeing. The computer itself is okay....I guess what you could expect for the price. ... show more

  • Failed Within 2 Months -- No Warranty Service
CPU: Intel Celeron N3350 Capacity: 4GB/32GB Style: Chromebook Only
Like a lot of you, I needed yet another device for my remotely educated children. This seemed like a solid choice for my 5th grader. The battery failed within two months of purchase. (Blue battery light flashing every 3 seconds and device will not power on.) Since it is outside of the Amazon return period, I submitted a request for warranty service to Acer. Not only was Acer's date of purchase information off for our serial number, they never responded to the warranty request. Not a denial, instructions, or even an acknowledgement. I have to buy another ChromeBook for my child now. Acer cannot or does not support its warranty. ... show more

  • Terrible user experience, do not buy.
CPU: Intel Celeron N3350 Capacity: 4GB/32GB Style: Chromebook Only
I bought this as an iPad alternative in hopes that my first grader could grow into it, but I ended up having to buy an iPad anyway (I am technical, but not an Apple person). The touch screen on this is really finicky and non-responsive, so the tablet part of it is a pretty crappy experience. The wifi radio is awful; any attempts at participating in a Zoom call were unsuccessful. I ran speed test comparisons next to my own laptop (>400 Mbps), within 5 feet from the router, and couldn't get speeds over ~25 Mbps until I turned off Bluetooth. Even then, it hardly hit 100 Mbps. Zoom should work just fine at both of those speeds, but for some reason, it was just completely unusable. The microphone is terrible. Interactivity freezes and stutters frequently for no reason. The one good thing I can say about this machine is that it is light and the battery life is great. ... show more

  • Great first computer for 7 year old
CPU: Intel Celeron N3350 Capacity: 4GB/32GB Style: Chromebook Only
Purchased this laptop for my 7 year old son for his virtual school. I wanted him to have simple to use not too heavy but durable computer. This laptop seems to be perfect so far. It is not the lightest but it’s not the heaviest laptop either. Pretty average in weight and is not a problem for my son to carry in bag pack when necessary. The touch screen is perfect as my son is so used to using iPad that he in fact prefers to use the touch screen versus the mouse. Prior to purchasing laptop, I read full description that states that this laptop is drop resistant and also safe if kids spill water on it. This is very important feature for me because my son is not the most careful kid with his belongings unfortunately. So far these features haven’t been tested, just hoping that is true. The initial set up was not very good. Not sure if it was my technical knowledge or simply was not that easy to set up account and connect to WiFi. Actually, my sons school also had hard time connecting it to the school WiFi, took them 3 days!! Anyway, overall I am happy with the laptop. I think it was great choice for my son. ... show more
