I am so happy with this laptop! It replaced my old Dell that was several years old and meant upgrading to Windows 11. So far, so good. Speed is amazing (16g of RAM) and the switch to Windows 11 was painless. The keyboard is sleek and the keys are well-sized. My only complaint is the number keypad is a bit smaller and my fingers have not adapted...that's a me problem. It has great ratings by CNET and other IT pros I know. Oh, it also connected itself to my Bluetooth printer without any help from me. Hooray! I use a wireless mouse because it's better for my hands, but the pad is generously sized and responsive. Battery life is very good screen quality is great, sharp and bright.

I have owned my ACER Aspire 5 15 laptop for over a month and love it. No issues at all, it starts up quickly and runs smoothly. Windows 11 arrived with version 23H2 and it promptly updated itself to 24H2 without any drama. Battery life is fine for my uses and it will go 15 hours on a full charge with a balanced power profile. No doubt it would go longer with the maximum ECO settings. Note that if you need more than 2 USB ports this laptop might not be for you. I use a cordless mouse so one port is for the dongle but in my case I never need more than one USB port free for USB sticks or programming cables for other equipment. No regrets with this little ACER and everything runs fine with the I-5 processor and the 16G of memory. The 512G SSD gives me more space than I will ever use with this machine but it's nice to know that it's there. Highly recommended!

I have had this laptop for a few weeks, gaming on a daily basis and so far I am very impressed. The laptop is good with multi-tasking as it comes with the Intel I5-8300h quad core CPU. The included 256GB SSD drive performs well and the machine boots super fast. I did follow the advice on multiple reviews for this laptop and undervolt the cpu to -.125. This helps with keeping the machine cool at a minimal loss of performance. I am able to run ultra settings on The Witcher 3 - Wild Hunt - 30fps. Skyrim Special Edition with texture mods - 60fps Red Dead Redemption 2 - 25fps on Ultra, 30-40 fps on High with some settings reduced slightly like water quality. Portal 2 - 90+ FPS on ultra Fallout 4 - 45+ FPS on ultra I would definitely recommend this laptop to anyone who is looking to purchase a solid gaming laptop. Update - 5 months: I have upgraded the ram to 16GB as animating with Blender and Unity software would eat up the ram on this laptop (link to ram I used is below). I have put this laptop through some abuse with development, gaming and animation.. sometimes all at once utilizing multiple screens. I have purchased some new thermal compound mainly due to my mistrust in the manufacturer compound, but have yet to apply and the laptop is still running like a top. Definitely Recommend as an entry level gaming/animating machine! Idea list can be found here - https://amzn.to/38wvVjg While I have had some fun times with the Acer Nitro 5, there is an issue that has been an annoyance. Thermal Issues - Most of the time using the Nitro 5 was a blast, no issues with heat and perfect performance... especially after the upgrades listed above. However... when gaming, temperatures can go from a cool 50-70C to 90C after a long period. I alleviated this issue by using a program called throttlestop, setting the profiles to disable turbo-boost on the I5 processor once 89C was reached. This did the trick but is not an ideal fix... The issue lies with the way the Nitro 5 cooling system is laid out (see image). Currently there is only one exhaust area for cooling. The issue with this is that the CPU is in the middle, so the GPU heat is being transferred to the CPU via the copper cooling pipes then the CPU heat goes further down the line to the exhaust fan. The ideal layout for this would be for the CPU and GPU to each have their own exhaust fan (similar to an Asus Tuff Laptop) This would ensure that the cooling system is dissipating heat to each respective exhaust fan rather than pulling the GPU heat across the CPU and then out of the case. I have reduced my review to 4 stars due to this issue. This computer is one of the worst computers I have ever used. It has arguably the worst or one of the worst gpus on the market and it also has a terrible cpu. I looked at "other products" that amazon recommended me when i scrolled down and it showed me a laptop for 10$ cheaper and it has an rtx 3050 and a 12400f which is about 3x better than this laptop. It also had over double the refresh rate of this laptop and most likely better battery life. The battery life on this computer is also terrible. It does not charge anymore while I am using it and it sometimes does not charge while I'm not using it. The battery on this computer is one of the worst batteries I have ever seen and after a few months of using it, it pretty much has half the charge of what it normally should have. DO NOT BUY THIS LAPTOP. look around for any other laptop that is better, or if you need it for battery and portability, find one that is specifically good for battery, do not get this at all for using it. And for gaming it has terrible specs with the 1050 ti and 8500H (some of the worst specs that you can possibly buy) not to mention that they are also laptop components so they are going to be undervolted which makes them even worse and the cooling system on this computer is also terrible. while browsing the web and writing this review, my computer temperature is at 68C for my gpu and 82C for my CPU which is terrible (the max temperature it can go to before shutting down is 98). This computer is terrible, do not buy it, build your own PC instead or buy a macbook or find a different laptop. This laptop sucks. DO NOT BUY

Awesome laptop for my husband. Crazy to say but at 53 he is just learning how to use it. The design is sleek and it is easy to use. The touch screen helps him to use the laptop like a giant iPhone.

I purchased an Aspire 3 with 32 GB Ram. Put many Acers in the company I worked for. This one my third. My wife used one that is 12 years old, fast and no problems. I am using no. 3 with all expectations met. All that said, Acer quality is excellent. None have ever disappointed me.
