This pool cue is straight, heavy in the handle, nice tough ferrule and hard tip. I get a very nice break with this cue. I bought to save my shooting stick tip, my shotting stick has medium tip and was mushrooming. It came in a lose plastic 2 chamber (they do not rub together) wrapper with paper packing around tip end in a long 4"x4" amazon box, was not in a separate tube. It could have been damaged but mine was perfect. Shipping was 7 days by UPS, box was a little bit beat up. 13mm tip, not pro taper shaft, standard shaft. Seems pretty tough.
