I liked the light weight feel not heavy on the lap when using it as a “TV “ tray. I’ve used this tray as a charcuterie board , in my bathroom to place a straightener on so I do burn the counter and on an ottoman to place remotes. This is a multipurpose item around my home.

This is a great size for serving a meal in bed, and also for laying out a cheese spread or charcuterie board for you and your significant other or a couple of friends. The color and wood grain is very attractive. I don't have any other acacia pieces, so I was surprised how light it is, which is great as far my needs go. The interior finish on mine is not perfect. A bit of extra finish is beaded up in certain crevices, and one small swath of the finish appears to have been applied in a different direction than the rest of it. But these imperfections are only noticed on close inspection. They don't bother me, and I plan to line the bottom to protect the surface when I use it to serve food anyway. Right now it's sitting on top of my entertainment center looking good while holding some odds and ends in place and preventing my cat from pushing everything onto the carpet. ... show more

These trays really are pretty and they are great for serving or display. I have one of the two on my coffee bar as a holder for my scale, knockbox, tamper, etc and then I can move it around as needed to free up space. The only reason I gave these trays 4 stars instead of 5, is that they have glue that has oozed out and dried as part of the manufacture, all around the base. ... show more

Aesthetically, it looks exactly like the marketing photos, including the medium-to-darker wood grain, and is great as a tabletop decoration. If you only go by the photos, though, you may assume the wood is thick throughout, which isn't true; the side walls are 9.1mm thick, narrowing down to an average of 4.5mm at the bottom rim where the 3.5mm-thick base is inserted. It's like on some furniture where the sides are made of heavy wood but the back is made of extra-thin pressed board to cut costs. In this case, though, it's the entire bottom flat surface that's 3.5mm-thick acacia, raising concerns about how much weight it can support if used as an actual serving tray. It's also glued and nailed in from the bottom, not the sides, so be careful not to overload it. ... show more

These trays are quite attractive and mostly well constructed. My only area of concern is with the thin bottoms. For my needs, they will be fine, but I won't be loading them up with much weight. I ordered these mainly to serve small amounts of snacks and appetizers to my guests. I would trust them to deliver breakfast in bed too. Overall,the trays are very attractive with smooth flawless wood. At $40 for the pair, I'd like to see a bit more strength on the bottoms. Even with the thinner bottoms, I'm pleased, and I will surely be proud to serve my guests from these beautiful trays. ... show more

These are very nice serving trays! Acacia is a beautiful wood species that certainly gives a rich and luxurious appearance to these trays. The trays are lightweight and they appear to be well constructed. They are well-designed with convenient handles and I fit well into the vertical "cooking tray" slots in my kitchen cabinets. A couple of minor criticisms: I noticed what appears to be some cross-grain sanding marks inside both trays on the handle ends. The marks are consistent on both trays so I suspect it is something inherent to the manufacturing process. Also, one of the trays has a small section with open grain that did not sand out smoothly. So, one star off for that but they're still very nice and I will definitely be using them. ... show more
