I ALMOST considered two stars because it DID blow cold while it was in operation. However, it leaked from the moment it was activated (front shaft seal). I put this on our new LS engine rebuild while it was still on the engine stand. Drained whatever shipping oil was in there and replaced with 2 oz PAG 46. Vacuumed down, charged up and...it produced a colorful, UV Green display on my shop floor :). 24 hours later, I re-installed our OE Denso compressor and it's once again leak-free. If it weren't for the poor seals, I'd say the craftsmanship was pretty impressive (I wasn't expecting much). But getting the seals right is a rather big deal - it's kinda like a surgeon performing the best heart surgery of his life while forgetting to suture-up the patient! Given how inaccessible these are on Yukons/Suburbans and, I assume, Chevy/GMC trucks, I recommend avoiding this one. It's a significant effort to install, then purge/recharge. Having to do it twice in as many days? I didn't appreciate that :). Maybe you'll get a good one, who knows. If you're feeling lucky and have the extra time carved out if/when it fails then, I say, experiment! Otherwise, it's just not worth the gamble. ... show more
