The media could not be loaded. My wife’s 2010 Jetta sounded like an airplace at idle and while driving. We couldnt figure out what was going on and why the engine sounded so loud. The loud idle was going on for about 3 years. Never affected the driving. We never decided to bring it to the shop since it was just loud and never affected the ride. A couple of months ago, in addition to the loud idle, a clicking noise started. Video is down below. I brought the car to a local shop and they said the AC compressor was shot and wasnt repairable. Not sure how true it is, but they fixed it. All the noise is gone and the car is now quiet. I guess it sounds like a regular Jetta. They said the part fit right in. I hope this doesnt break because it was about $475 with parts and labor at a local shop. The stealership’s quote was about $1575.

EDIT: Two years later and it’s still working great!!!!!! Fit perfectly on my 2007 MKV Jetta 2.5L. Great low cost option for my high mileage car since I wasn’t wanting to drop $600 on my A/C from other parts stores. My operating pressures went from 55 psi low and 70psi high to 35 psi low and 150+ psi high. Been using it for over a week now with no issues. EDIT: Almost a year later and it’s still working strong, you should definitely buy this if you’re looking for a cheap working alternative.

Perfect match and works great, so far. Much better deal than the local parts store. Will update if there are any issues within the warranty period. I also replaced the receiver drier and expansion valve. Update: compressor still works, however air cooling is weak and seems to work well for a bit and then not so well. It takes a while to cool the car down but does eventually. Still a decent deal and it could just be struggling against the wicked summer heat in Oklahoma.
