I bought this Abyssaly black marble contact paper back in early March to give some old end tables a refresh, and I’m really glad I did. The tables were still functional but looking pretty worn and dated. This peel-and-stick wallpaper made them look significantly better with minimal effort — the black marble pattern added a modern touch and instantly made them feel less beat up. Application was fairly simple. The material was thick enough to handle without tearing, and I didn’t have any major issues with bubbles or creases. I’d recommend taking your time and using a smoothing tool or even a credit card to get a cleaner finish. The adhesive stuck well, but not so aggressively that I couldn’t reposition when needed. For the price, this was a solid upgrade. If you’ve got old furniture that just needs a quick facelift instead of a full replacement, this contact paper is a great low-cost solution. Contact paper can be surprisingly expensive these days. And as anyone who has experience working with this type of stuff knows, it can be a real pain. This item is better than most in my experience. First, the adhesion is good, not great but will get the job done. Second, it you need to move or adjust it a little before getting it into place, it shouldn't a a problem. The other really cool thing is that it has a grid on the back to help cutting. This isn't the case with all contact paper rolls, at least not to my knowledge. On the negative side, the grid does not go across all parts of the paper which could be beneficial. Also, if you are looking for something that will have a shine to it, you won't be happy. This was pretty simple at first but of course at the end the paper ended up wrapping around itself. Separating it was pretty easy it did rip in the corner but I left enough extra that when I trimmed everything down it wasn't noticeable. There are a few bubbles but they aren't noticeable unless you go looking for them. I have a lot of extra paper that I'll just save for another project. I'd buy again it looks really nice and the marble pattern is nice and not overwhelming dark as I've seen in other versions. ... show more

I have made the choice to live in a very epensive, walkable neighborhood in Miami to make my life more convenient but it comes at a price--the only places I can afford that are clean and decent are UGLY. I have the most hideous dark brown formica, countertops and laminate cabinets. Covering my counters with this and changing out the hardware on my kitchen cabinets has seriously completely changed the space. It is challenging to assemble, at first. The first section of counter top I did was sort of a disaster. But after my first attempt, I learned what I should have done differently and adjusted accordingly. I covered my kitchen by myself and it turned out great, but it definitely would have been faster with a second set of hands. The easiest thing to do is measure how much you will need, cut the panel, peel back a few inches of the backing, position on counter tops, use a squeegee to get all the bubbles out, and start back at the beginning. If you just work with a few inches at a time, you will have a lot less bubbles and the process will fly by. I have a top mounted sink so I left a couple centimeters over hang and then used an exacto knife to cut the precise shape around after it was already stuck to the counter tops. I then used some calk to ensure water would not get under the edges. I have had it in for a couple months and it's holding up really well! It's easy to clean and I have zero issues or complaints! I've used contact paper for a couple desks in the past, and decided to try it on my kitchen laminate countertops. I'm no pioneer––I've seen crafty people do it on YouTube several times. I wish I hadn't bought this brand. No matter how hard I and my husband tried, it would wrinkle about 4" in and just get progressively worse. I had cleaned the counter thoroughly beforehand, handled the paper gently, had a blow drier for bubbles and edges, my metro card for help flattening, along with the palm of my hand. It just didn't work. And the best part is that, half way through when we realized it wasn't going to work, we pulled up what we had done and there was layer of adhesive covering the countertops. I had to scrub them for like 30 minutes to get off. Smelled chemically too. Did I get it off? Yes, but I would be afraid to do it in a rental. Overall, very disappointed. ... show more
