Took about 10 minutes to assemble it. Make sure you use the correct length strap for the correct position. The one closes to your ankle should be the longest strap and each one thereafter is the smaller and then smallest strap. Fit my shoes size 11 easily. Was able to aerate my sizable front yard in about 30 minutes. I could have easily done it while mowing. Keep the straps tight and you are good to go. You may occasionally need to re-tighten them, but it only takes 2 seconds to pull the straps tight. Take care not to step on any sprinkler heads if you have a sprinkler system installed. I didn't experience any trouble of dirt or grass sticking the bottoms of them at all. Would definitely purchase another pair in the future if needed. ... show more

    • Decent product for small yards
Product can do what it's supposed to do with certain care in mind. Is this product good for 1/2 acre lots? No, it would take too long and you'd be wore out. So if you're looking for an exercise challenge, go for it. What do I mean with certain care? The times are made with a special screw that has a hex head, threaded on the underside, and is chiseled like a nail. The base is made of plastic, which holds the head of the screw. Use the wrench supplied and tighten the nuts underneath by feel, not by brute force. If you don't have decent balance don't try using this product as you'll likely stumble or worse. You never know when or how the ground is going to give Because the nail holes are so small you may have to take several steps around an area to break up the soil. It's also not drawing a plug out rather just causing a small separation in the soil that could easily cave in. So give yourself plenty of chances of absorption with plenty of holes. I was using a foot to foot sideways motion or doing a low lift marching motion. Final note: Can you use this product while walking behind a push mower? I mean you "can" but if you're not wearing these everytime you mow, and you don't mow every other day I'm not sure you'll see much of a benefit. Regular walking strides are to long and you wouldn't be making enough holes I think this product is best suited for spot repair. Super cool item that arrived as perfect as it appears in the photo. Sadly, no instructions were included and one spike was a flathead. It was a helluva workout trying to keep it securely latched because the fabric slips and there isn’t a harness to keep both straps from loosening from the tension created when pulling it out of the ground. The extra strap has to be tucked and slightly slows the entire loosening process. To avoid falling, be sure to use a pole for support ... show more

    • Junk, DON'T BUY!!
This product is advertised falsely. The picture shows 3 straps per shoe, there's only 2 per shoe, but that wasn't the issue with the straps. The real issue I had with the straps is that they didn't hold my shoe in place. They immediately came loose and made it impossible to walk around in. On a side note, my yard was dry and not wet, so there wasn't a "sticking" issue with the shoe to the ground. Spend $10 more and get the aerator shoes that have laces that you can actually tie with a knot to hold them in place. ... show more

Purchased these to address a couple of spots in the yard. I was impressed with the product sent and the inclusion of all the required components, as well as a couple of spare spikes. Quick and easy to assemble, but if you buy one use the longest straps for the ankle strap. Took them out and gave it a whirl. Works great if you use a heel to toe style of step with a little more emphasis on the lifting of the leg. ... show more

    • Great Idea. But .....
I really like the idea of this product. But as shown in the pictures it should have six straps with nice Heavy Duty buckles. Mine only came with 4 straps and cheezy buckles. Guess it is only twenty dollars. The buckles with not stay fastened. So if I take off the straps and lay the green base in the lawn and step on and bend over and lift out, move one length of the device lay in lawn and step on it, repeating over and over and over and over and over..... my back starts to ache. Not worth the efforts to return it .. it is only twenty dollars.. again great idea ........ I think I've some nylon cord and will make pretty bows to hold on my feet. ... show more

    • Can Use While Mowing, Except ...
Amazon recommended these to me and I thought "Hey! I could wear these while mowing the lawn and kill two birds with one stone." When they arrived, I easily attached the nails and figured out that the longer straps go in the back. I put the shoes on over an old pair of combat boots I keep in the garage for gardening. Here is a tip, so that you don't do what I did. Don't be in such a hurry to put the shoes on. Take a folding chair out to where you plan to use them, sit down, and put the shoes on *there*. I put the shoes on too early and was wobblily clip-clopping all over the place, spiking my welcome mat, spearing pinecones, and scraping my walkways. My plan to wear the shoes while mowing worked just fine, but there was grass-clipping buildup on them when I was done. I used the nails on one shoe to loosen up the muddy grass plastered on the other shoe. ... show more
