I decided to quit relying upon house sticks for making my billiard breaks, as I was forced to use a different stick each time, with different tips, curved sticks, and a multitude of weights. To standardize my break, I bought this stick in the heaviest allowable according to the rule book. Mine is 25 ounces and pushes a ton of energy through the cue ball. The break sounds like lightning and my ball spread is much improved. Sinking a ball on the break has improved as well, as I move them all over the field of play. The grip feels very nice. I was skeptical about buying a dedicated break stick, but am very happy that I did. It is well made, very straight, and can be broken down to make a jump stick. It comes with plastic tips to protect the threads, which is nice to have.
