I've been reviewing a lot of notebooks and journals as part of the amazon vine program. I'm impressed with this notebook. It has a nice sturdy cover and wire binding that is well matched by the higher number of pages. Additionally 100gsm does not necessarily tell you precisely how ink will present on this page. It seems to depend on other factors as well. I'm finding that you can be pretty confident on no bleed-through with that metric, but a shadow of your writing may be visible on the other side of the page, which does not render the writing space unusable, but can be less visually appealing. This paper is 100gsm, but on the superior side of thickness showing minimal shadowing from inks on the reverse side of the page. Even when I use my fountain brush pen for practicing Chinese characters, there is almost no shadowing on the other side. This is exactly what I'm looking for. If I wanted to be superbly nitpicky, I would say I'd like just a hair more grippy texture to the paper to make colored pencils with soft leads easier to use, but it's really not bad by any means. I'm just imagining my version of perfection. Colored pencils take, I'm just missing that little extra texture that I like. I am totally splitting hairs here, and to be frank, it's so rare that I can use my brush pen in notebooks/journals, that I'll happily take the trade off. The hardcover does an excellent job of pushing the wire binding around so that you don't get hung up on where the wire tucks into itself. Likewise, the wire binding is a heavy gauge and is moved as a unit by the cover instead of twisting up on itself. What this means is, you can just open the journal and it's going to lay flat and you won't need to fight the binding at all. The ruler is easily removable if you don't need it. As for the pages, most of the notebooks I've been seeing have this layout that give prompts in the header for weather, day of the week, date and memo number. This also has numbered pages, which allows you to make use of the table of contents pages that are provided at the front. I think for a notebook of this thickness, providing those TOC pages is ideal. I also find memo numbers highly useful in journaling for referring back to earlier entries if you want to pick up on a thought process that you had otherwise wandered away from. This is a design element that I appreciate. For what this notebook is listed for, I think it's more than a fair price, but when extra coupons/discounts are added, it seems like an extremely good deal given the number of pages, the full A4 size and the pages' tolerance for very wet inks and broad strokes, like from my fountain brush pen. It's checking just about all the boxes for me for a an ideal notebook.

This notebook is a great addition to my other leather-looking notebooks and journals I use. I really like the sage green color and leather-like look and feel of the notebook. It looks great on my office desk. I have other A4 notebooks for journaling and note taking but they are bound like a book and not with a spiral spine. They have to lay open flat on my desk, taking up a lot of room in order to write. I was excited for a nice-looking notebook that could be flipped open and folded, taking half the space my other books take. I love the large number of pages in this notebook so that it will last me a while. The paper thickness is 100 GSM, which is the minimal thickness I’ll go with a professional looking notebook. I really like that it has pre-numbered pages and a Table of Contents section at the front (4 pages), great for bullet journalists. The elastic closure and pen loop are nice additions, though honestly I never seem to have a pen that fits the pen loops, this one not being an exception. The back inside cover has a pocket for slips of paper, which I also don’t use but for those who do, it’s a sturdy pocket. For the somewhat high price for a notebook, you’re getting one that looks and feels great, is easy to use with the pre-numbered pages and Table of Contents, and has thicker-than-normal pages for less bleed through. If you need an office notebook, I would recommend this one.
