I used this product to insulate two short, small diameter coolant lines that run from the coolant reservior to the engine block on a 2009 Saab 9-3 2.8. These lines sit atop the turbo, which produces a ton of heat. Consequenlty, they eventually crack. I expect this product to protect them and prevent the new hoses from cracking. The insulation is not real bendable and because the hoses are "S" shaped, I cut several small pieces for each hose. Once installed, I used multiple zip ties to reinforce the velcro, as I'm concerned that the heat from the turbo may cause the thread that holds the velcro in place to deteriorate. ... show more

I installed a new power steering hose on my car, and the replacement part did not have a heat shield where the OEM unit did. I bought this, cut it to size, and wrapped the replacement hose. It was easy to do. It is priced right and is easy to use. That is a winning combination.

Velcro isn't very strong...the strips want to pull away from each other with minimal effort...had to use small braided wire wrapped around the center, secured with stainless clamps on each end...safe yourself time & money and use products from other companies such as DEI

I had a set of wires that were protected by OEM plastic covers above heat shield. The plastic there had melted so I ordered this to help protect the wires that are there. Super easy to install. More than enough room to enclose hoses or wire groups. Velcro holds well but if you are worried about it, a few zip ties would make sure it stays in place. ... show more
