Lemony Snicket's 'A Series of Unfortunate Events' is highly original, endlessly entertaining, and exemplifies how literature for children doesn't have to look down on its audience, hence why this series can and is enjoyed also by adults. The unfortunate journey of the Baudelaires throughout the 13 books of the series (or 14 books, if you will) is irreverent, tragic, inventive, and never without Snicket's sincere, unpreachy humanism.

The ending of the last book kind of made me sad, it just seemed to me that he could have done a lot more with it But I love the series and bought this to reread them all again and again. I also like how he makes the material more interesting and fun. He defines things for the younger kids who read it and he explains why he words things the way he does. Trying to piece the clues together as you go along just adds to the fun! I wish that this was one of the books they had us read in school because it would have definitely been worth it and made English class more interesting!

I was looking to buy these books again after rewatching the show, because I hadn’t read them since I think middle school. But the hardcover box set was almost $200 so this was a perfect $50!! These books are incredible and everyone should read them!

A Series of Unfortunate Events was one of my favorite book series growing up. I bought the third one at a school book fair, & immediately had my mom take me to get a library card so I could read the series from start to finish. With that being said, I only had book 3 on my shelf. I saw these & knew I had to buy! Overall, I’m very happy with this purchase. They came in on time & I haven’t noticed any major differences in printing when I compared a few pages to my original. The only reason I didn’t give 4 stars was because, as luck would have it, the new book 3 came damaged. I was a little disappointed by that, but overall they are good quality & I can’t wait to reread!

These books are very special to a wonderful 4th grader I know! They have become even more popular due to Netflix’s recent release of its original series The Series of Unfortunate Events starring Neil Patrick Harris. It’s almost impossible to purchase through brick and mortar retailers, even small local businesses couldn’t promise I would be successful in my attempts to buy the complete series! Thankfully Amazon has this boxed set from a small independent retailer who offers this set at a much lower price than anyone else I found!! GO AMAZON 🎉🎉 and thank you for providing small business with a way to sell products.

i was skeptical after reading reviews, but ultimately tried it anyways, figuring i’d return the set if i needed to. but i won’t be needing to! we ordered the paperback set for a friends daughter for her birthday and it is great. all 13 books are here, all printed right side up, books are perfect condition-wise. i flipped through all the books and only found one minor misprint! and it was the word “the” missing at the top of one page. we can survive with that haha anyways, would definitely recommend!
