  • Very well organized workout book for arms
I've never been to the gym or to a trainer, so I have no idea what I'm doing. I took a chance on this book and was pleasantly surprised at how it's organized: the first small bit is verbose with suggestions about overall health, what you should eat, etc, but it quickly gets to the point with well organized workouts. You can record your notes on each day, noting how you progress. It's really helped me add resistance training to my otherwise aerobic workouts. Time to get the rest of the body involved! ... show more

  • A day planner for your arms!
I am impressed at the depth of this program. It can be used by beginners, but it is really for someone who is already comfortable at the gym, if you want to do the full complement of exercises. The book is put together well, and reads like a daily planner for your arms. Each day there will be a list of exercises to perform, diagrams showing you how to accomplish the exercise, and space to write down what you actually did. There is also space for each day to write down what you are eating. There is a glossary in the back that gives more details about each exercise. The book is well planned and thought out. The program will no doubt build arms. If you are a beginner you can do as much as you are able., and work mainly on form. The variety of routines will keep you from getting bored, and keep you muscles from building a memory. At the beginning, the early exercises can be incorporated into a general routine, but as the weeks move on, I can't imagine you doing much else than the routine. You will eventually get to a point where you are doing 8 exercises for your arms per day. that is a lot of time . Especially since the exercises average 4 sets each. If you are ready to dedicate three months to building your arms, this seems like a great program. ... show more

  • Have not finished the book but I like the format a lot
I'm pretty impressed with this book. first off it is like a hardcover book which I was surprised at I thought it was all going to be like a magazine type book. another thing is the beginning of the book comes with a meal plan along with other nutritional information so it's not just about workouts. it has spots on the pages to record your nutritional values for the day so you can keep track of that as well as has Progressive workouts that starts you off at a pretty basic level that I think anybody could perform. flipping through the book towards the middle and end the workouts get longer as you build up your strength. I am enjoying it and look forward to seeing the results as I progress through. I do wish that they may be offered some alternatives to some of the workouts but that is something simple and easy to look up depending on where you're working out in the equipment you have available. most of my workouts are done at home so I don't have a cable machine or some of the machines that would be needed to perform some of the workouts. very nicely done and would highly recommend as a gift or for somebody who is looking to get started with a new workout plan. ... show more

  • Seems ok
Seems ok for someone looking for somewhere to start. Didn't look like something I was interested in, so I recycled it into the local little library box.

  • Day by day workout plan to make gains
This book just gives basics on sleep, avoiding injury, hydration & a brief overview on eating, etc., it is focused on workouts. If your a beginner you may want to do some more involved reading on diet & fast twitch, slow twitch muscles groups & how often to work them & atp cycles, etc., lots to learn. If your looking for recipes or detailed information about diet, read more up on that too. If you already workout & are looking to make gains by switching up or adding to your routine and just want to get right down to business, this is the book for you. You’ll get a brief overview of things you already know for the first 27 pages, then you get a day by day workout routine for the 90 day challenge. There’s an area to write in what you’ve eaten for the day if you want to track that. There’s also a guide on proper form for each exercise. This isn’t intended to replace your workout routine, it’s an addition to help fire more muscles to make more gains. If you don’t have a workout routine it includes a base workout to add to the everyday challenge workout. It has 3 phases, that vary in intensity. I’ve found that switching up or tricking the muscles into firing differently really works, so I’ll give this a shot. ... show more

  • Valuable source of information
This book has useful tips for all experience levels, from beginner, to advanced. It lays out a 90-day plan, targeting transformation of the arms and increasing arm strength. It’s a very useful reference tool, filled with exercise suggestions, helpful illustrations, nutrition tips, meal plans, and targeted workout plans. I really like that it’s hardcover, ring bound, and easy to carry in a gym bag, for quick reference and notes. Whether you’re just getting started, or have been working out for years, this book can help you achieve your goals. I’ve found it to be a valuable source of information and I’ve picked up some useful tips. At under $27, it’s a good value, certainly worth considering. Highly recommended! ... show more

  • Should be good for beginners
I am no bodybuilder, far from it. I got this book to possibly motivate me to start working out. So far it hasn't happened yet, but I don't place the blame on the book. Perusing through it, it seems very informative and has a set schedule with fairly easy to follow picture instructions for the exercise. Obviously this book sis for arms and the majority of the exercises reflect that. There are some leg workouts but you'd probably need supplemental guides and plans for that. The exercises use mainly dumbbells and your own body weight but some do need exercise ball and bands or row machines. Overall though, I feel it should be a good place for anyone to start out, though I don't know how leg workouts can fit in as to not get all yoked up front and chicken legs downstairs. Then again, I'm no bodybuilder. ... show more
