I used this to replace the old, decaying top of the standard 4'x 8' dog kennel from Home Depot I keep in my back garden. I'd say, it's about 15 years old. The top that it came with fit very snugly, and the grommets lined up nicely with the caging. This one is much lighter in weight. That's not to say it isn't "heavy duty." Times and materials change. So as far as durability, we'll have to wait and see. It came with those ball-bungee ties, and that is awesome. However, every grommet seemed to land right at a post, so I had to wrap them around to get them in a cage space. All that is fine; not the end of the world. It's just a tad large and looks sloppy compared to the one I replaced. I don't think it's horrible, and the wrinkles will come out in time. It's just not as sharp looking as the one it replaced.

This seems to be a well-made and waterproof cover. After we got our yard fenced, we no longer needed the kennel for our dogs, so we now use it to stash away all of our yard tools and lawnmower. This cover is a serious upgrade from the tarp that we had been using as a cover. I only hope that it is heavy duty enough to hold up as long as our tarp did. Our kennel was designed with rather rounded corners, so this cover does not fit snuggly at the corners, but that is not really an issue because the ball bungees and grommets do a perfect job of pulling the cover tight and holding it in place. So, it was a breeze to attach this cover. The material seems to be a high quality tight weave 'Oxford fabric' and is a smooth silver on the underside and seems to use the sort of material that I associate with the interior of insulated lunch bags. The exterior is grey and more reminiscent of a high-end tarp or shower curtain. The grommets are well done and evenly spaced, and all the sewing feels quite strong and looks very straight. The only way that I can see this cover being improved is if the cut ends of the material had been folded under before being sewn into the interior seams. But that may seem excessive, as the interior seams are not likely to see too much wear. Of course, it would be cheaper to go with a tarp, but if appearance is at all important, this cover certainly looks much nicer.

This product,10' x 10' Dog Kennel Cover 600D Heavy Duty Waterproof Replaceable Dog Kennel Top Cover - Black, contains the following items: 10' x 10' Dog Kennel Cover 600D Heavy Duty Top Cover, 24 ball elastic cords, No instructions or installation documentation included nor in the product listing. The whole product set weighs 104 oz or 6 lbs 8 oz. The 10' x 10' cover is made of 600D material. It is black on the outside and silver on the inside. The material is feels very well made and durable. The cover itself weighs 94.52 oz. The bottom edges are folded up 1.75" and secured by a two parallel lines of stitching spaced 1-5/16 apart. There are grommets along along all the bottom part of the cover that are spaced 23" apart. The grommets are 1" in diameter x 0.12" thick with an 0.66" diameter hole. The 24 ball elastic cords each measure at 5.75" length with a 1" diameter ball. Each ball elastic cord weigh about 0.395 oz. The ball is too big to pass through the grommet holes. The maximum length the ball elastic cord can stretch is 12". There's a very good knot at inside of the plastic ball that will not slip through or come undone. The elastic cord is 0.16 in diameter. These 24 ball elastic cords look well made of good quality material. Even without install instructions, the cover is easy to put on just by looking at the pictures in the product listing. Once the cover is on, it only takes adding the ball elastic ball cords to secure the cover to the wired fencing. To use the ball elastic cord: 1. Push in the elastic end of the ball elastic cord through a grommet hole and in past the fence as well. So, the cord goes in through two layers, the grommet hole then the fence. 2. Pull the elastic cord all the way on until it is stopped by the ball reaching the grommet. 3. Pull down the elastic cord that is now behind the fence to the next one or two hole on the chain link fence. 4. Pull the elastic cord through the Chain link fence hole and stretch it upwards to loop over the ball. If the elastic is barely stretch then go down another hole or two before pulling it through and looping it over the ball. I didn't like that it was in a plastic bag so tight that the zip popped off and the bag ripped under the zip line when I was trying to ease it out of the bag. It would have been nice of it came with a decent drawstring storage bag pouch. Even with the couple of minor issues, this is still a good quality product that's meant to last. It's a fair price for the quality and durability.

Very pleased with this kennel cover. It does not come with the roof structure, so we will have to build or buy that separately. But considering our previous solution was a tarp that came down… this is so much better! Ten out of ten recommended. This 10' x 10' kennel top cover is made from heavy-duty 600D Oxford fabric with a triple-coated nano-material interior. It’s built to withstand up to 8,000MM of water pressure and includes waterproofing strips and double-stitched seams for extra durability in rain, snow, or sun. It installs with 24 included ball-end elastic cords and is designed as a replaceable topper for standard kennels (frame not included).

So I wanted to start this by saying that this canopy is actually very good quality. It seems sturdy and thick and everything seems stitched well. I said another review since it’s made to fit multiple enclosures and the type of universal or a DIY, it has a small drawback of being maybe less taught or tight on the corners and edges. This could probably be more easily rectified with a DIY set up so you could build an enclosure to fit this canopy and then get a couple extras. Overall, I would say it’s a pretty good value for the money but just keep in mind. It is going to be a universal fit instead of a custom fit.
