  • Very adjustable for different foot wear
So we got these for ice when walking to the car. They definitely help keep you safe and like that they can easily be put on to any footwear, very adjustable.

  • Icy weather awesomeness. Icy weather awesomeness.
Easy to walk. Convenient velcro strap for quick on/off. Excellent ice traction. Compact enough to take-with (find/make a suitable carry pouch). These are just winter weather awesomeness for icy conditions. Did not know this style of crampon existed. Never convinced to buy the full boot version. I’ve seen folks walking in stores with them on, and wondered if drove with them on too. I surmised they require a little more effort and attention to take on and off. But these are on and off in a velcro snap. Tighten or loosen easily and quickly, even while standing. Stays secure on the boot. A winter storm recently landed here, so got to test out the traction on solid ice, and another one today. I am impressed. Walking on pavement is unavoidable, but I just take them off as soon as the icy area has been navigated safely. The metal cleats showed no bend on cement under my weight. I will add that when walking on ice in these, I am placing foot down more flat, rather than heel first, in order for the cleat to more fully connect (always with a slightly bent knee for stability). If I needed to navigate icy conditions on a regular basis, I might then add a full boot crampon to have on hand. I am very happy with these, especially this smaller compact style. ... show more

  • One broke right away
We purchased two sets of these, one for my husband and one for me. The first time my husband went to put his on, one of them broke where the band attaches to the crampon. It was able to be rigged so he can still use it, but not very sturdy. Mine have not broken yet, but with the shape of my boots, they do not like to stay on and I have to constantly slide them back on my boots and pull tight again. My husband doesn't have this issue so I think it is the way my boots are shaped. They do help to walk on the ice and the spikes are sharp. ... show more

  • No more busted fannies and head
It NEVER fails, whenever I am walking on icey ground I manage to slip and fall, land smack on my BUTT, and of course, if I manage to somehow use my elbow to keep my head off the ice I save my head but I usually end up smacking the back of my head. It’s just a given every winter. Thus, its why I try to avoid certain times of visiting family at home in Alaska. Well I had to be there this year but thankfully I had these year. I wasn’t sure if these would work since they were very spiked, but they did. I walked the “Alaska shuffle” and I managed not to but my tailbone, elbow or head. These WORK. ... show more

  • Easy to put on
I got these to use on my shoes for taking the dogs out on icy days since I have fallen more than once. They are very easy to use, very easy to put on but unfortunately I will have to modify them to make them smaller since they are too big for my women’s size 6.5, 7 shoes, even my thick hiking boot types. Don’t get me wrong, they made them with a good 4 inches or so of Velcro but they left the part that folds over without any Velcro and don’t ya know the empty portion is exactly where my sizing fits in when pulled taut so I will have to stitch rip the upper velcro and reposition it and sew it back on. But once modified they are a quick fix when needing to get them on quickly to take the dogs out. ... show more

  • Come off footwear very easily
They seemed like a brilliant idea but in reality not so much. They were delivered very promptly and no issues with seller. The product seems sturdy but hard to tell as it won’t stay on well

  • Good for grip it takes adjusting
I only applied these on my boots since it wasn't so easy to move them around to my other shoes. They grip well in the snow but we haven't had enough here to really put them to serious use.

  • Regret the purchase
These things won't stay on your foot unless you place under arch, but in order to do so you must tighten it to the point the sides break and they're useless. I will not buy again.
