I will not be installing this for a few months yet when the weather is warmer and more stable and predictable than it is now, when I will be replacing the shingle roof on my house with painted Galvalume metal. So far, I have bought two like this one, along with a similar unit, and will have to buy several more to seal all the roof vents in my house. With that said, this unit is built of quality materials with excellent build quality. These vent seals should last for many years of exposure to extreme weather and temperatures, so I do not expect to be disappointed with my purchase.

Very flexible seal for tin roof works great

Normally this flashing boot would be used on a roof but I installed it to seal a waste water pipe exiting the side wall of a metal building. The exit hole didn’t land in the flat of the master rib siding so I needed something to flex, contour, and go over the rib. This boot installed easily and was flexible enough to match the contour of the ribbed siding. The rubber boot easily trimmed out for the 2” size pipe I’m working with. I installed it with standard sheet metal screws and did not use silicone sealant around the base as recommended because I am not concerned about it being waterproof as I would if it were on the roof. The flashing metal is aluminum and the rubber is very pliable even though it was 39 degrees on installation day. The description and photos as advertised are accurate and I do recommend this product.
