You can see no light coming through the umbrella. It worked well in the 110 F weather. While it was warm standing under the umbrella, it sure beats getting baked under the sun. This umbrella offers really good protection from Solar Radiation. However, it is quite delicate for something that is used frequently. It rips far too easily. Needs improvement.

Perhaps I should've paid more attention to the measurements as this item is obnoxiously large - and not the lightest thing to carry. It provides great shade coverage though and is a great way to keep cool. I stand about 5'8 and this item provides shade down to my lower legs when walking outside. Although it's so large, walking on a busy sidewalk amongst other pedestrians can get awkward. Can definitely use it on a picnic and is certainly worth the money. ... show more
