The sizes from 1mm to 8mm cover a good range, and the balls feel smooth and consistent enough for projects where movement needs to stay clean and quiet. The best use was repairing a metal drawer slide that had started dragging and skipping near the end of its travel. A few of the original balls were missing, so matching the size from this kit was simple. Once replaced, the drawer rolled much smoother and no longer felt gritty when opened. The polished surface helped the slide move freely without needing a ton of extra grease. Made in China. These bearings all appear to be as close to spherical as the eye can tell. I haven't found any visual imperfections yet, but on a quality caliper, I get some drag as I move some of the bearings around on the precision jaws. This means they may not be perfect between a pair of races, but they will work very well in any non-load bearing use case. The measured sizes of the bearings are as follows: 1/8" - 0.2500"; 7/32" - 0.2188"; 3/16" - 0.1871"; 5/32" - 0.1559; 1/8" - 0.1245"; 3/32" - 0.0930. Several of these are very close if not dead on, but there was a slight amount of deviation in the sizes observed, so don't expect these to be the highest quality bearings you've ever seen. The 1/8" bearings were also discolored compared to the rest in the kit, they were almost a darker purple color.

I periodically do work on bicycle wheel hubs and headsets along with other household projects that call for bearing replacements. Typically, I have the ones I need for frequent projects but sometimes I run into a situation requiring a different size and am usually needing to run to the hardware store. Having this kit on hand with such a wide range of ball bearing sizes will most definitely save me a few trips to the store in the middle of a repair. This SAE sized kit comes with balls are well machined and true to size. Noteworthy is the excellent organization of the labeled storage case. This makes it easy to keep things in their place, easy to identify and use. I was very pleased to get the Stainless Steel Bearing Balls Assortment Kit, 1mm to 8mm balls. I have been working on different things that have a single bearing that has fallen out or off and been lost. Many times, a replacement is not available without placing a special order and waiting. This kit has stainless steel bearings that should be very durable in sizes that should cover most things. Some vintage motorcycles have a ball bearing used as a spacer and pivot to work the internal pressure plate of the clutch. I have needed to replace them many times but it has never been easy to find the correct size. This kit eliminates the hunt. For less than $8 you can have 650 bearings in 12 different sizes. This set is a fantastic value for any shop. Quality, quantity, selection and price, what more could you want?
