Newborns don't have full sight until they 8 months old. They see in black and white at birth and red is believed to be the first color added. These little books are cute, stimulating and easy to grasp. Weirdly, some of the titles are misspelled on the covers. The pictures are nice. There's a spelling mistake on the cover of one of the books 'sea animials'. The vehicle book had part of the sports book inside it.

These black and white books are great! They crinkle and are easy to manipulate by tiny hands. The mirror works but is the safe baby style that is more of a reflective film, but grandbaby loves it. I really love the loops on each book because I can hang these as needed to keep them from falling in the car or out of the stroller. Nice set! ... show more

Read that high contrast colors are best for newborns & younger infants. We have 2 new grandbabies joining us next month & I know most babies aren't fans of tummy time. These soft books are going to be perfect to keep their little eyes entertained during tummy time & their totally washable to boot!
