  • Great for helping kids become more empathetic and aware!
Style: Inclusion Skills
This is a great way to help people, especially kids, understand concepts related to diverse abilities and illnesses, and how to be more inclusive to everyone in our communities. I work in the DEI space, but sometimes have a hard time with how to translate concepts of inclusion and allyship into language appropriate for my three elementary-school-aged kids. This card deck does just that: has kid-accessible definitions for concepts like "mobility", "chronic", "recovery" and dozens more. It also has question prompts to open up conversation on the concepts. Using a card deck makes it seem more fun to my kids (and less like mom teaching a lesson). The QR codes that link to "Heroes" is a great addition -- we appreciated reading how people would describe their conditions to a child and how they impact their lives. Plus, my kids just think QR codes are cool, so that feature made them really interested in the cards! I already owned the 52 Essential Conversations deck and found that to be a great way to open our family up to conversations that would otherwise feel tricky to start. This is another great product from this company! ... show more

  • LOVE this tool!
Style: Social Skills
I love the conversations this deck has sparked in our home. It has facilitated conversations that I would have never thought to have with my 7 year old son. I really enjoy seeing how my son would cope with situations that he may face. I feel more confident in his success at school because of this deck now that he had time to think is scenarios and contemplate how he would manage them. The bonus online library is an amazing addition that really gives helpful suggestions. ... show more

  • Great tool for teaching!
Style: Emotional Intelligence
I teach a graduate level course on Leadership and Collaboration to masters level students. I have a lesson on Emotional Intelligence and I have found this deck to be invaluable in having the students critically think and reflect on their EQ skills, and to stimulate discussion on where they are at. It’s easy to talk about Emotional Intelligence but it adds a whole other level to make sure students are thinking about and understanding the concepts, and this deck is a simple yet powerful way to address that. ... show more

  • Good overview of the mental models, in a nutshell
Style: Critical Thinking
Informative, but could have been made much better if the cards were made much larger, just like Pip Decks.

  • Useful up-to-date questions for college and job prep
Style: Interview Skills
I used the cards to do mock interviews with my son on our recent roadtrip. I liked that each card gives you core questions related to a specific admissions evaluation criteria. That was KEY to finally getting my teen to organize his thoughts and come up with compelling stories about himself. What impressed me most was how current the content is. These cards are useful for college, internship and job interviews. ... show more

  • Surprisingly good purchase
Style: Coping Skills
As a CD counselor, I've often been disappointed with this genre of product, but this was worth it. I facilitate an IOP group and added this to the rotation of activities I use. It's been useful for helping my clients learn adaptive coping. I've used it in a few individual sessions as well. They pick a card at random and either tell me how they already use this skill and if it's helpful for them or they are encouraged to try it. Either way, it's a win. ... show more
