Was struggling with bottles that leak around the screw top or even the mouth peace. These bottles have a great screw cap and mouth peace system. My challenge is that the bottles seem to easily discolor / stain, not sure which it is. I use Gatorade in these bottles while I bike and the top half of the bottle, which would be empty the quickest has discolored/yellowed. The bottle itself says to not put in a dishwasher however there is a video on the site saying they are dishwasher safe using the top rack, so that is a bit confusing. I'll give the dishwasher a chance to remove the discoloration. Otherwise, bottles function as I need them to. ... show more

They're decent water bottles, although I'm constantly a bit worried about them leaking. The only weird thing about them is that the top caps are "too short" so they don't feel like they screw all the way down. This isn't a problem, but just feels weird.

I've been using these bottles daily for a week now. They definitely do not leak (tested both). As another reviewer said, closing the bottle is a two-step process. First you twist the lid closed, as normal. Then lift your hand, bring it down, and twist again another quarter of a turn to "lock" the lid. I thoroughly cleaned both bottles after unpacking and was pleasantly surprised that they did not smell or taste "plasticky" at all after drying. I like these bottles so much that I use them at my desk now. They are soft and easy squeeze without feeling cheaply made. The plastic is very pleasant to touch with a tactility that prevents slipping out of your hands when riding. If you lift the bottle up and suck only, you will get a drink of water. However, I can get nearly a quarter of the bottle if I squeeze while sucking. Also, unlike many bottles, you will get every last drop easily out of this bottle without taking off the top. Phenomenal value here. Next time, I will buy six of these. 1 Month Update (9/27/2019): I've used these for the last month almost every day, either for cycling or just around the house. They still look good after quite a few rides without the usual dark scrapes. I really, really like the feel of the plastic. It is soft and so perfect for squeezing for large gulps. The top seals very well and I am really loving how positively the top engages the bottle -- you know when this is sealed, as it does not move any more. I have not had a single leak on the bike or off, and I've knocked the bottle to the floor a couple of times. These bottles are INCREDIBLY well-designed. I plan to use these for camping (which is the real leak test). At this point, I am confident in saying that these are the most well thought out water bottles that I ever used in 30 years of cycling. Big thanks to the 50 Strong people for making my life a little better in a small way. Final thought: Can water bottles make you smile? These can! 14 month update: I take these bottles in the car, on camping trips, as well as on rides 3 or 4 times a week. They get thrown around, fall off the bike every now and then (when I miss the bottle cage), and generally abused. They are used on- and off-road. At this point, they are marked up significantly and look worn. However, the nozzle and cap still DO NOT LEAK. No mold or grossness has accumulated in the nozzle or in the bottom of the bottles. Nozzle remains easy to open with teeth while riding. In short, they are still operating at peak efficiency well over one year later. In 30 years of cycling, using probably 40 or 50 different bottles, these are my favorites by a mile. Still smiling. ... show more
