I just received this water bottle today and was very exited abou it. Of course, I wanted to wash it before using it. When under the hot water all the lettering started peeling right off! I bought 4 of these with different designs on them. It cost $60 they are cute but they have a terrible odor to them even after being washed and dried thoroughly and sitting with the lid off for a few days. Once I received them there was an insert inside each bottle saying to wash them before use and to store them without the lid on them. My question is what is that smell and why isn't it going away? The bottles say they are BPA free but graded a #7 plastic which is code for BPA and now I'm afraid I'll be poisoning my family by using them. The odor is coming from the inside of the clean bottles. #7 plastics have a danger of seeping toxins into whatever is in them according to the plastic by number scale. Is that what I'm smelling the toxins????? I bought these in order to buy a safe product made in the USA. I was searching everywhere for water bottles not made in China and found 50strong but now I question the safety of this product. Edit: The smell does eventually go away but it takes a really long time. I still store them with the lids off but upside down so dust isn't getting in them as they sit in the cupboard. We only use for one day then wash. I did buy more and they seem to have lost that smell sooner than the first ones I bought. I wonder if part of the smell was coming from the paint they used. I'm not sure but I do like these water bottles. The soft handle is easy to hold onto while holding other stuff too. I also like the built into the lid strainer so fruit and ice doesn't get in your mouth when you take a drink and aren't expecting it. I have to admit some of the reviews made me not want to buy this water bottle. I had been wanting a water tracker bottle for a while now as I really need to increase and/or stay on track with hydration. A lot of these reviews have a lot to do with the quality and durability of the bottle and the printing on the bottle. If people would just read the care instructions this bottle will last you. HAND WASH the bottle only! Things I LOVE about this bottle, the ice guard, nothing is more infuriating than getting ice when your working out and just want ice cold water. I also love the quality and durability. The letters AREN'T a decal they’re printed on raised letters in the plastic. 10/10 for me! ... show more

I flipping LOVE this water bottle. I know it's just a bottle, but the functionality is perfect. I like to put ice cubes in my water, and I appreciate the ice blocking swirly thing in the spout. I've never had a water bottle with that feature. Also, I'm great at spilling water on myself whenever I drink from, well.. anything. Idk why this spout is so different, but I never spill when I drink from this bottle. Also... unicorn! The artwork is well done and feels sturdy. Love this. I have monthly five-hour long infusion treatments for a genetic immune deficiency. It's vital to stay hydrated. Being able to do that with a super cute bottle gives me a little "happy".
