I replaced a metal frame double basket I kepthitting my head on in my laundry room with these. Everything fit in the top 3 "bins". I am not sure I would keep detergent in them, and be aware that the lower ones are definately kid height. But we have first aid supplies, pain relievers, our overflow tissue and toilet paper, small things that are easy to loose,but can be seen in these. I usually use overthe door shoe holders for all kinds of things, but I think I am going to move a lot of my bulky craft stuff over to these to get that same visibility! I have seen some with pockets at the top too. These do not have those pockets,but ifyou ate putting taller items in that top shelf then you wouldn't be able to use them anyway. There are support "stringers" and inserts for the bottoms that make them hold shape nicely. These would be great beside a changing station for diapers, creams, and other sundry. Or for kids socks and underwear in the lower parts when they start dressing themselves. Would also be great for toys and traching to put stuff away. A little difficult to get on sliding closet doors, but can be done. Also hooks well on the side of platic shelves so it would be great in a garage to corral smaller balls, mits, trashbags, lighter cleaning supplies, gardening tools, etc. The plastic also seems to take labels well. You don't want to put something that leaks liquid easily in there as the supports are cardboard wrapped in cloth and that would probably break them down. You could probably use spray adhesive ans cloth to re-cover the bottoms to personalize for a room as well. ... show more

I neatly filled each pocket of this organizer and didn't over pack it and it was maybe 10 pounds all together at most and the next day the organizer ripped the hooks off my door and dropped to the floor. I was so bummed. I ordered some different hooks that would fit through this organizer and it's holding up well. The organizer itself is fantastic but those hooks are not meant to hold much weight. ... show more
