These fit great and are fade resistant. My female coworkers have complained that the crotch doesn't fit right, but the men's fit perfectly. I've had several pairs for a couple of years and despite weekly washing, they haven't faded.

I have a Navy Blue pair and after over a year they still looked and fit great, I liked them so much I ordered a black pair! Room to move without being too baggy! I still practice martial arts and ride motorcycles, so they are good for mobility and have extra pockets. The large side leg pockets have sub pockets to organize whatever you have in them - great for a large cell phone. Real men need room to move! Quality and strong military uniform like material. I am retired military, and these are the closest I have found to the comfort and versatility of uniform pants that are not real camo uniform pants.

PLEASE read this before ordering. Just wrote a review on the 511 TacLite Pro (same company and series). First I think I am going to love these pants and may upgrade to a 5 star. I bought these and the TacLite Pro looking for a very durable work pant for around our farm. The reviews on the 511's have been great and have not been happy with the wear of Riggs and Carhartt (even their 12 oz fabrics). I wasn't sure whether I should buy the TacLite Pro or these regular TDU's. We have to work in areas of bramble, brush and briars, and wanted something to make that easy, as well as comfort, functionality and durability. I liked aspects of both the Prolite and the regular TDU, especially the heavier weight of the TDU for brush work. Key comments: Size: The TDU's come in S, M, and L sizing only. The Lites you order via waist size and inseam. I usually wear between a 32 and 34 in the other work brands. The TDU M is supposed to fit 31.5 to 35". Side note TacLite comes in more typical Waist and Inseam sizing. I ordered the Lites in a 32W - 30Inseam and the Regular TDU's in a M Short. Both arrived on the same day. I tried the Lites first, a little apprehensive that these might be a little snug, especially with my winter layers on (thermal top, regular underpants, thermal bottom, and a turtle neck). The Lites fit GREAT!!! The elastic waist made them easy to put on etc!! I was sure the regular TDU's would be even at least as good since these also have an elastic waist and the medium waist range was 31.5" to 35". COULD NOT EVEN BUTTON OR SNAP!!!!!! The TDU Regular pants are flat out sized wrong!! I have never worn a 35", let alone with an adjustable elastic waist. I could VERY comfortably fit into the 511 TacLite Pro 32" pants and could not even button the regular TDU which should fit up to a 35" waist!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I liked the weight of the pants and most other things about them, so I ordered the L Short. The L is for waist size 35.5" to 39". These arrived and are slightly baggy, but fit about like the M should have fit. I am sure a true 36" or 37" waist person would not fit into a L. Other notes: The pocket design on the regular TDU is quite different from the TacLite: no small front pockets ( a drawback IMO); back pockets are small and not slanted (another drawback IMO); front cargo's are large, but a little low, there are nice dividers in these (not in the Lite's) which is helpful. Bottom line - I think I will really like these pants, but would love them if 511 fixes the sizing fiasco, and changes the packet design to be similar to the TacLite Pro.

Edit: 4 years later, I still have all 4 pairs I bought. They've faded some and a pair that was too long has ragged edges from me stepping on it, but considering the abuse I put them through between work, washing a million times and riding my bike, they are still in amazing condition. So worth it. Being a woman I first ordered the 5.11 Tactical Women's Taclite Pro Pants. Even though I went by the size chart, they were too small and would not have been practical since they were cut so low. I had my first pair of the ripstop TDU pants for a week before I ordered my second. My job requires me to be in the buildings with inmates but my dress code is "business casual." I got poked at for wearing these two or three times but they are worth every penny. I am able to move comfortably, the waist band is a god send, and I am running laps around everyone else not worrying about getting my pants dirty while they wear through their slacks and end up with the hems in toilet water after a cell flood like today lol. The pockets are great since they are deep and I can put everything from my pens, keys, and radio on them without everything falling out. My only complaint is that they make a lot of noise when I walk and everyone can hear me a mile away.

Finding field pants has been a challenge. I'm rather tall and skinny ( 6'3" and about 155lbs) so finding pants that fit at all is tough. These fit. Paired with a last chance belt, worn high on the hip, these pants fit well. These pants are hard as a coffin nail. I've walked through miles of thick forest, scrambled on rock faces, and slid down gravel slopes in these pants. I won't say that they're no worse for the wear, but they've held up remarkably well under the circumstances. No patches needed yet. Functionally, the pockets are fantastic. The slash front pockets are roomy, the rear flap pockets are comfortable, but the thigh cargo pockets are remarkable. The magazine dividers are remarkably useful. I've never used them for magazines, but they're perfect for my wallet, sunglasses case, power bars, loose stuff that will jingle or rattle, and beers. Lucky discovery, bottles or cans fit the mag dividers perfectly. These pants are comfortable, but a touch warm. Even with the pockets packed, the pants fit well for hiking, backpacking, and even for road trips. They're a little too warm to wear comfortably in the hottest day of the year in eastern Washington, but short of that they're very comfortable. Strings in the cuffs making blousing the pants into boots very easy and a quick way to keep snow or mud out of your boots. Overall, these pants come highly recommended. I'll probably get another pair when this first pair wear out.
