It just arrived today so I have no experience with it on the road, but it's excellent - picture quality, color saturation, resolution - all good. I've been thoroughly impressed with the Portable External Monitor, and it has quickly become an essential tool for my work and entertainment needs. The standout feature is undoubtedly its remarkable resolution. The ability to customize brightness, contrast, and other settings gives me the flexibility to fine-tune the display according to my preferences. What truly delighted me was how closely the screen's quality resembles that of my MacBook Air M1, ensuring a seamless visual experience that's a joy to work with. The convenience of plug-and-play functionality is a real game-changer. The monitor comes complete with everything necessary to connect it to my computer – an HDMI cable and USB-C cable – eliminating the need to hunt for additional accessories. Another major advantage is that it draws power directly from my computer via the USB-C connection, negating the need for an external battery source. This integration streamlines my setup and minimizes cable clutter. However, one downside I've noticed is that when the monitor is connected to my MacBook Air M1, it does seem to consume a notable amount of battery. While I appreciate the monitor's utility, it does necessitate keeping my laptop plugged in for extended work sessions to ensure I don't run out of power. In terms of audio, the built-in speakers are adequate for casual use but nothing extraordinary. I find them suitable for situations where I need sound, but I prefer using my laptop's speakers for better audio quality. ***Original review with an update*** The screen is poorly made. The first one I got was shipped broken. I requested a replacement and received it. The second seemed to work fine. Six months later it has given up the ghost. I was using it and the picture just disappeared. The backlighting is on but no more picture. ***Update*** Upon seeing the above review their customer service reached out to me. Upon an exhaustive troubleshooting process that took several communications, including pictures/video of the monitor not working, they agreed to send me a new monitor free of charge. The current monitor is working fine. I appreciate the customer service rep working so hard on resolving this. Final Review With two broken monitors, I question the quality. However, when it works, it works great. I used it often as a second screen to my laptop while doing research in addition to work for my college classes. A second monitor really comes in handy. As you could guess from the price, this will not compete with any high-end monitors for color quality, but it does look great for what is purchased. 4 out of 5 on the picture. The monitor's sound is nothing great. 2.5 out of 5. It works for the price. If I never had an issue, I would rate it a 4.5 monitor. The power cord for the monitor is short, shorter than a typical monitor cord or my laptop cord. Be prepared to use an extension cord if you do not have a plug nearby. With my experience, I would rate this monitor at a 3 to 3.5 because of the fragility of the screen (the first broke in shipping likely despite the really good packaging), and the port going bad on the second monitor. Customer service is a solid four stars, though the back and forth with proving the monitor was broken then trouble shooting was exhaustive. I didn't like handing out my personal address, but the replacement did ship from inside the US and arrived quickly.
