Style: 1/2 Watt 40 values
This is a nice kit of resistors to have on hand for various needs like repairing a PCB or for building a circuit. Having it on hand means you don't have to wait for an order to arrive, and you can try different values to tune your circuit to the proper function. The ones I measured were all within the specified 1% tolerance. The different values are in small plastic bags with the value clearly marked, no need to stare at the color code to determine the value, you can quickly pull the proper value out of the box with a quick glance at the bag. They also use a color boarder on the value label, but I don't know the intended pattern. they dont change color at any obvious separation in values. Low values like 1.0 ohms are blue, up to 33 ohms. Medium low are green, from 47 ohm to 560 ohm. Then medium high are yellow from 680 ohm to 10K. 22K ohm and up to 1M ohm are pink. Due to the blue body color of the resistors, the color code can be a bit confusing to read at times. For example on the 470 ohm resistor the violet band looks a lot like a brown band when seen against the blue background, and the first band should be yellow, but it has a bit of a green tint to it. This is a problem with all resistors that use the blue body color, not just this assortment. Over all it is a nice assortment.

My husband and I were building a DIY control system for our hydroponic garden. We both studied electrical engineering in college and love making fun things at home. We designed the circuit a few weeks ago and counted the number of electronic components we needed. Due to the number of varieties we needed, we ended up getting this resistor kit. It's awesome that the box contains almost all kinds of commonly seen resistors. They are neatly sorted and packaged with clear labels. The leads are beautiful and are easy to solder. We've checked every resistors we used with a multimeter, the values are within the stated tolerance. We are excited to build new cool stuffs.

This kit has a lot of resistors, by count, 400 of them. There are ten each of 40 different values spanning a large range of resistances. If you're looking to stock a full parts collection for workbench design and/or repair, this is a good starter kit. With these, you can seed a collection of replacement parts stock. In reality, you might not use all of the included values on a regular basis. It's rarely possible to do so in real life, no matter where you acquire a diverse range of resistor values like this. But that doesn't diminish the utility of this kit, because at least you can expect to have that odd value on hand if the situation arises. I would say that if you need to build up an initial inventory of replacement resistors, it won't hurt to get one or two boxes of these. Afterwards, you'll probably be finding yourself sourcing higher quantities of individual common values as you consume them and need to restock. But at least you are covered for anything else.

Few things are more annoying that trying to build up some electronic circuit (or repair an electronic device) and find yourself thwarted by lack of a commodity-class component like a simple resistor. Why not maintain a modest stock? Here’s one way to bootstrap that process: This 400-piece, resistor assortment from EMGTMS. Resistors are 1-percent devices in values ranging from 1 ohm to 1 Megohm. Quality of the parts is on-par with the OEM components you find in most any consumer-class electronic “stuff.” A lot of modern electronic stuff features 1/4 or even 1/8-watt resistors. These are 1/2-watt, increasing their utility and usefulness in higher-power circuits. At a 13-buck price-point, there is no excuse not to have one of these assortments on your repair bench.

This review is for the "40 Values 400 Pcs 1/2W Resistor Kit 1Ω-1MΩ ±1% Metal Film Resistors Assortment for Electronics Projects and DIY Experiments." I tested many of the values in this kit to find them not all within 1% as described. Some were just over 3%, which for non-critical diy projects is ok. I wouldn't trust these in service work at all however. The listing itself states these are for experiments and projects, so that is what you get. My one star removal was for the resistors not being consistently within 1%. The choice of values is greater at the low resistive end, so if you need odd values under 100 ohm, this kit may help. Each value is nicely packaged and placed in a plastic container. Careful with the hinges as they can break if too much force is used. All in all, if you need a kit of 1/2 watt metal film resistors, this isn't a bad kit imo.

This is a resistor gold mine. The wide variety of resistors, all well labeled, organized beautifully in a small plastic box, each one easy to remove from the package-- if you're looking for resistors, you simply can't do better than this. The only issue is that the label for each bag is on a separate card inside, so you need to be careful to make sure the right card goes back into the right bag if you pull it out. Or, you could learn how to use your multimeter to read the resistance. Or learn how to read the colored stripes on each one. Whatever you do, this is a super convenient and useful box of all kinds of resistors, all of them full-sized with strong wires that stand up to being bent multiple times in your breadboard. This is perfect for learning about electronics.
