These are nice and sturdy. I hung lots of curtains with them and they hold up. The only reason for 4 stars, is because the teeth are pained together and I had to go and press hard to open each one. I had to ask my husband for help on a few of them. They should just easily open, but they were stuck together. My fingers were getting blisters, so had to use a thin towel. I absolutely love the look of these. Like many have already mentioned, the clips are quite difficult to open the first time - I was using the counter and a wooden ruler to open them because it was hurting my hand. However, once that has been done, they open and close easily and have a very good grip without damaging the curtain fabric. They are pretty and lightweight, but well-made and sturdy. These are great hooks for the curtain rode. They slide nicely, I have bought 2 more packs since this purchase. I did find out with heavier drapes, you need to use more, I was hooking them every 5 inches but added more so they do not pull off easy. Very easy to install.
