A couple of points. The foam appears to be good quality. There are, however, some things to keep in mind. First, the foam is vacuum packed. At first I thought they sent the wrong product but was relieved when I unwrapped it and the foam expanded. Second, when you pull foam to accommodate your item, you will remove all two inches, hence the bottom thin layer to place down before you start loading your tools, or whatever items you are wishing to accommodate. That means that if your items are only 1 inch thick, they will be "buried". If you are looking for easy access this is something to be considered, and a different thickness may be needed. ... show more

These pads come compressed with in bags with air removed. Take them out of the bags and wait 24 hrs for them fully inflate before you start cutting to size. The foam is very soft. You can cut to fit or it can be form fit objects.

a bit surprised when it arrived as it was vaccum packed. Let it breath for a couple of hoiurs before use to reach maximum expansion. Unlike most pull apart foam I have used inthe past, this product stays in shape and requires a bit more tug to release a cube.
