I have several old tool cases that came with battery operated tools that have long since died. I decided to use a Dremel and cut out the partitions in those cases and then line the cases with foam to make some protective carrying cases for some other items I have such as RC cars and air guns. I was expecting these foam sheets to be firm and dense, but they are much softer and squishier than I had expected. They arrive compressed in a plastic overwrap, and it takes a few hours for them to regain their shape. It seems like they are an open cell foam, which is polyurethane and not polyethylene, so be aware of what you will actually receive if you order this. Despite my nitpicks, twenty bucks for a 4-pack of these isn’t all that bad and I can still use these, but I do wish they were a bit denser. ... show more

You can never have enough of this stuff around if you need it for packing Pelican cases with gear. This stuff pops up to normal size after opening the vacuum pack and letting it sit out overnight. As described and pictured in the product description the foam is multiple sheets that come compressed in a vacuum bag. It's a good quality foam that feels good (unlike the squeaky cheap stuff) and is dense. Ideal for sensible equipment or fragile objects.
