I bought these to convert XLR cables to TRS for my small PA mixer. They work as they should and appear to be well made. I have only used them a few times so I can't speak for their longevity. However, they don't cause any sound quality loss or affect the signal gain so that is a big plus!

This rates 5 stars for value, due to its low price. It has a strong mount of the 1/4-in plug to the body of the XLR connector. It has nickel-plated connectors which are good for corrosion resistance but have higher resistance than gold-plated connectors: I gave it a 4-star rating because this surface may increase noise when the connectors are moved. I recommend these for non-critical use. To improve their connection they should be wiped from time to time with a contact cleaner fluid. ... show more

The PA system I've been putting together is centered around a ZOOM mixer/recorder that has TRS monitor sends. However, my snake has XLR jacks for the monitor returns. These work perfectly for sending the monitor mixes back to the stage. We upgraded our church mics last year Nothing particularly wrong with most of them, just time to upgrade after more than a decade. Personally, I prefer the older mics which are waaaay more responsive and omnidirectional than the newer mics now. Fortunately we didn't toss them when we switched them out. So I rescued a few and run directly to my portable PA system which only has 1/4 TRS inputs and not the XLR. These adapters work great for that purpose.
